Finally passed the argument part of episode 18 and I'm like. What are people even fussing about? This is the second time it's been like "Oh people are fighting they hate each other" when actually it's like. Characters having normal reactions in response to stress. They both apologized after. The energy it takes to be misogynistic and racist about this interaction is crazy.
thaisha being like "hey, i found a ballista! i'm going to use it!" and then firing it straight at julien and nearly fucking killing him, this dynamic (irony intended) NEVER misses
God, Tertia is just so tragic. Not only was she sacrificed on the altar of her family gaining even more power, after the ritual failed and she ended up a monster, her family just abandoned what was left of her. All she wanted to do was serve them and they left her there to rot.
Let's go over the facts:
- Julien has a deadly vendetta against any and all Tachonis
- Vaelus can now speak with the dead
- There might be Tachonis or Tachonis-adjacent in this place
- More information might be needed from them
Julien is in a very unique position for a vengeance run where he can actually Kill First Ask Questions Later
murray and bolaire already have their hands full and now two parties are returning to the city specifically for their magical expertise. they’re never going to get a full night’s sleep again.
"did I do a good job?" as final words
they're both failed experiments
The funniest thing is that, given that one of Julien's core traits is that he always thinks strategically, something like "we won't be able to help your men if we die in an ambush because we didn't rest and nurse our wounds" would probably have been enough to convince him
