Every time I crack my fingers, I pretend it physically hurts. For, cracking my fingers truly makes my heart hurt; always. Cause you’re never here. I know you hate it. But I love you. Cracking my fingers, over the years has become a symbolic event. Since I was young, I recall cracking my fingers and feeling so cool for doing so. I must have been around six or seven years old when I got really good at it. Whatever. The point is, when I was around you, you gave me hell for it. I found it funny. But I liked that about you. And now that I’m 23, I still crack my fingers, but only because it’s how I keep you alive in my life. I crack my fingers because my heart cracks every day you’re not around me. I crack my fingers cause it hurts me to not have you. I crack my fingers because I hope that one day I won’t have to because you’ll finally be around.
