#throwback a little over 2 years... I was using a walker as much as possible and was feeling pretty good about the future. I felt I could start being responsible for my own training and I was going to discharge from the therapy program (NRN) that was responsible for so much of my progress. It was a big and hard decision. However, I was still going to have access to the Peak Center at Craig and all of their excellent trainers. It also meant another person could get into the program that NEEDED to be in a harness and moved. I have no doubt that I would have still benefitted from the program, but I didn't NEED to be harnessed and moved. It also meant things would be easier on my family who had been pulling together to get me to the hospital 6 out of 7 days a week (they are closed Sunday lol). My grandma was driving was driving almost 5-6 hrs on these days AND Then hanging out at the hospital for for the 8 hours. It was a 12 —16 hr day for her 3 days a week or more depending on help, traffic, and weather. Looking back at the video though, I thought I was moving great and I was barely moving lol. But hey, I was moving and that was what I needed to be doing. Thank you to the trainers at Peak for kicking my arse, it paid off and still is. 😆 #quadriplegic #tetraplegic #sci #spinalcordinjury #paralyzed #improve #iamadaptive #strength #recovery #disability #accountability #believeinyou #positivethinking #tbt #gymlife #throwbackthursday #denver #keeppushing #babysteps #walkagain #trusttheprocess #craighospital #nrn #leapoffaith #family #support #hope #faith #grateful #myjourney #believe (at Peak Center At Craig Hospital)
