"You seem troubled," quietly he speaks so, for her ears only. the room's crowded with people and in between the mass of young adults Itachi sits there wondering where he's gone wrong in his life to deserve this: the smoke of cigarettes circling through the thick air and the smell of alcohol lingering. "Want some fresh air?"
She was an open book- Ino knew that- however to have her emotions unmasked this easily was disconcerting. She hadn’t even realised that someone had even bothered to look for her in the midst of so much frivolity going on (Naruto and Kiba were loudly debating who would be the better Hokage).
When she glanced up to the owner of the voice, she was unsurprised. It was Sasuke’s older brother - seated not too far from where she had been chewing on her lower lip.
The florist tried to offer him a smile, but it fell short. She simply settled for a nod and rose from her seat.
“Fresh air would be great,” she confessed.
The kind of sick that could not be cured by healing jutsu or medicine.
Confident as she was in her skill and prowess as a shinobi, her upbringing had some major faults in it too. Her father had indulged and sheltered her far too much and it was why she was facing this crisis right now.
She had returned from a mission where her team had encountered some Sound Shinobi. One of her enemies had perished in an unfortunate way.
By the hands of their comrade. Whilst Ino had been inside their body.
She could still feel the myriad of the emotions of the dying kunoichi’s thoughts. Betrayal, anger… loathing…
The feeling still wouldn’t leave her. Maybe I’m losing my mind…
“Itachi-San… how far would you go for your village? To fulfill the mission?”
