@silverwinghere has been drawing me a lot of gift art lately and I love each and every photo but sadly I just can’t keep up! I gotta reblog them on Ask-JetStream and here but till then I wanted to draw something back.

Silver is super interested in Filipino history (from the Philippine-American war to the later social/political issues that continued though the 80s and 90s) and has been teaching me a lot about it! In response I wanted to share a part of history I enjoy studying which is the Vietnam War. I saw Silver drew her sona in an old Calvary uniform based off the song “I Wanna be in The Calvary” by Corb Lund and it reminded me of how the Calvary was used in Vietnam- the Air Cav. So I drew her sona wearing a First Cav jacket and the standard issued M1 helmet with its camo fabric cover. I didn’t want to draw Silver happy because of how horrible the war was to both the Vietnamese and Americans alike. Maybe Silver was drafted and didn’t want t be there? Maybe she doesn’t believe in this war. Maybe she is hearing word of the protests getting worse and worse. I also decided to add an orange smoke to the background for what I hope is an obvious reason.

I hope this makes up a bit for all the awesome art Silver! And I hope you had a very Merry Christmas!

Friendtober Day 4!! It’s @ask-narratordoe

Might be the last day I do sadly- idk, I’d like to do more but tbh was it with a BIG burnout and some depression and it’s been kinda hard to be happy with anything I draw ;;

As for how I changed Doe? Well here’s the thing- I already helped Doe a bit with the redesign she did on her oc a few months back so it’s kinda hard- however I DID change something! Gave her more freckles lol like a fawn’s spots or something lol

Sorry if this disappoints anyone tho, I really did want to do more :(

For day 2 and 3 I did @unlocktheaskblog’s WonderFlag and @aerialaim’s Aerial!

For Aerial I didn’t change much, honestly I just can’t see anything that I’d truly change outside of these few changes! Aerial’s design just works so well in her story. What I did do however was to change up the eyes a wee bit (cuz I like green) and to add some darker gradients and freckles- I also changed the coat color to off white because I personally don’t like using pure whites.

As for WonderFlag however- I interpreted her as less of a flag based horse and more so an America cased horse. I still kept her hair blue but added a bit of old fashion-ness to her by bringing it back to a more 50s style hair as well as added the first American flag as her bandana. I wanted to keep her pretty but tough as well which is why I didn’t add big lashes. I gave her a pink muzzle and an off white coat as well as some eyeshadow just to bring more red into her design. finally my favorite part was giving her a bandana I already own which is a bandana with the POW MIA symbol all over it. I wanted to make it seem at first glance that this character represents American history- the good the bad and the ugly.

Also it’s literally no secret at this point that I’m stuck in the 60s and 70s rn

Who in YOUR opinion, is the best character from the show?

Do I even need to explain why?

She was a fun idea for a villain and the fact that she just didn’t snap fingers and be a perfect pony after the fact is top teer. Also the fact she uses how she felt and what she’s been through to better help others? Love horse- very good
