Not entirely surprised that Cullen isn’t in templar gear. After DA2, it’s easy to see him leaving the templars or being forced to leave. I’m curious to know what his position will be on the templars. Will he try to start a new kind of templar order?

I can see that. He clearly views the protection of mages part of being a Templar very seriously. He knows the dangers they face and he knows that Templars are essential to support them and keep them safe and not in a "throw them all in cages" kind of way.

I dunno, if Cullen left the Order, I can see it being because he doesn't agree with the Order splitting from the Chantry. Staying loyal to the Chantry and the Divine might score him points in Cassandra's book while not blindly following Lambert and the Order might score him points with Vivienne. So far, she seems like she would appreciate Cullen's "protect the mages, not subdue mages" view of the Circle.

Confirmed:

3/3/3 class split

Iron Bull is a warrior

Cullen and Cassandra are romances

What this means... well. It means there won't be four warriors. We have Cass and now IB confirmed as warrior companions. What does this mean for Cullen's possible companion status? There is LadyInsanity that says that she only heard romance confirmation, while there is someone on the BSN saying that she heard them call him a companion as well.

Two things: Either Cullen is our 3rd companion. That would mean that Feathers the Beardy Grey Warden is out. No hunka hunka burning grey bearded love. That would mean that tons of concept art and alpha gameplay footage were for nothing. Which... while highly unlikely considering his art was used to showcase some possible armor customization for companions... could happen.

OR, Cullen is a NPC romance. Which seems to be the safer bet considering the only concept art there is of him is the War Room and the leaked survey. Both of which feature him empty handed.

((Another unlikely scenario is that they decided to switch up Feathers' class after the alpha footage was shown. That is possible... probably more likely than the other two scenarios if we are still getting both Feathers and Cullen as companions. Considering that there hasn't been a whiff of art or alpha footage for our possible third rogue companion... it is entirely possible.))

But plus side... we have a confirmed third mage that hasn't been revealed. So buck up Dorian the Dramatic Hands Mustache Guy fans... you might just see him yet.

Is that post right? Was Cullen confirmed for a companion and romance both??

Romance is 10000000% confirmed. Different sources are saying different things about whether or not he is a companion. But if the companion classes are split 3/3/3 like most are saying…

That means either Cullen is an NPC romance…

OR We don’t have Beardy The Gray Warden companion OR Iron Bull (who is confirmed also) is the third rogue after Sera.
