OH my god. "yes horrible things happened to shauna, but they were the consequences of her own actions" in reference to her horribly traumatic miscarriage and/or jackie's death. lets really think about that first one for a second. 🧠✨️
was it her fault that she got pregnant? well. she had consensual, unprotected sex multiple times. so, yes. does it then follow that it was merely "the consequences of her own actions" that her baby was stillborn and she had to hold the body, covered in her own blood, for days while she lay sick and starving in the middle of the wilderness? NO?? WTF ARE YOU SAYING? would you ever propose than any other woman out in the real world who has a miscarriage or stillborn is merely seeing "the consequences of their own actions" because she may have chosen the part where she had sex and got pregnant? no you wouldn't. so it's a crazy thing to say when it happens to a teenage girl stranded in the woods.
and on the jackie note, jackie is no villain okay. they were both dumb teenage girls who were careless with one another and who lashed out at each other during a highly traumatic experience. yes the fight was about jeff, but shauna did not force her to sleep outside. she merely snapped back when jackie attempted to force her to sleep outside. and the argument that shauna let her sleep out there and didn't fold and go out to convince her to come back doesn't really work for placing the blame squarely on her shoulders when there were 14 other people in the room who made the exact same choice.
