The collage being circulated online is misleading. This picture of Mamata Banerjee was clicked a few seconds before she actually greeted the Prime Minister with a "namaste". According to a video uploaded by the official Facebook page of NDTV, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Kolkata on 22nd May at around 11 AM and was immediately greeted first by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and then by the other Bengal officials. PM Modi can even be seen conversing with Mamata Banerjee for a few seconds upon his arrival, before moving towards the other dignitaries.

The condition of fallen radhachura trees on the boundary walls of our house. With the municipality not doing any private house works now, getting labourers to cut down fallen trees is a daunting task. This has resulted in feuds between neighbours as they seek to cut down the fallen trees without seeking permission. Amidst this #cycloneamphan chaos I went to take the last photographs of this tree which have been a solace to me. Seeing it in this state for the last couple of days from my balcony felt like I am living with a corpse. So, when the final preparations are being made I came down to take one last look. The viral picture of a boy is not taken during Cyclone Amphan, the picture is 7 years old

Claim: "Once in a while you come across such pictures and realise just how privileged you are, we are. Aftermath of cyclone Amphan, Bengal." A photo of a child taking food while drowned in water around is going viral on social media with people claiming it to be from the recent Cyclone Amphan.

Truth

Upon doing a Google Image Search of the viral image, we found that the image has been floating on the Internet since 2013. We found the same image on the 'India Relief and Development Fund' website, captioned, "kid getting food in water unknown source". The image is posted on July 12, 2013

The same image was published in a Malayalam article during the 2013 North India Floods, the article was published on June 29, 2013.

and also in a Facebook post, in 2013. Archive Hence it is established that the photo is seven years old,  and is not taken during the Cyclone Amphan. The viral claims are absolutely false.  Read the full article
