Headcanon — Do not tell Cyrus to kneel. Ever.
One of the fastest ways to set him off is giving him a controlling, demanding order to kneel. It doesn’t matter if it’s meant as a “joke,” a power play, or someone trying to assert dominance, to him, it’s not harmless. It drags him straight back to Mordis, to being forced to his knees, to having his will ripped out of his own body.
Cyrus does not kneel. Not to kings. Not to gods. Not to anyone.
Cyrus harbors true hatred for only one deity: Mordis. She is the architect of his curse, the hand that turned his life into a weapon, the reason his body & soul were never truly his own. Toward her, there is no fear, no reverence ... only fury, resentment, & a desire to never again be used as someone else’s instrument.
But when it comes to other gods & goddesses, even those aligned with nature, life, or so-called benevolence, Cyrus is deeply uneasy. Not because he believes they are all cruel… but because he has learned the hard way that divinity does not mean kindness & power always comes with expectations.
To him, gods do not simply help.
They choose, they claim, they shape mortals into what best serves their designs.
Having been controlled & manipulated beyond comprehension, stripped of agency & turned into something meant to destroy, Cyrus cannot stand in the presence of divine beings without feeling that familiar tension in his chest: the quiet dread that he is being measured, evaluated, weighed for usefulness.
Even Mother Nature herself unsettles him.
Not because he rejects the natural world, but because he knows how easily devotion can turn into obligation… & how quickly “chosen” can become trapped.
So he keeps his distance. Respectful, wary, guarded ... & never fully at ease.
He does not kneel. & he will never again offer himself to anything that claims to know what is “best” for him.
🌙do they need an emotional connection or are one-night-stands an option? (@ Cyrus)
𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍𝐒
Cyrus in his main verse, doesn’t really seek out emotional connections when it comes to sex & for many reasons, he avoids getting attached. Because of that, one-night stands are absolutely an option for him. Physical intimacy, on its own, doesn’t feel especially vulnerable to him. However, when it comes to romance, he is demiromantic. For that, he does need a genuine emotional connection. Romance requires trust, safety, & attachment, & that kind of vulnerability is far more difficult for him than casual intimacy ever is.
A cute little thing Cyrus would do: if it's raining out, he would 100% cover you with his coat, like an umbrella! (depending on how strong your relationship with him is) But it's a cute imagery. <3
