“This human love holiday seems strange to me… but the card seemed, well perhaps not appropriate, but correct.”
"You say the word, and I will beat her to death with a baseball bat."
Jag thought about it. “Tempting,” he allowed. “But I suspect the White Lords could be expected to retaliate if we bludgeon the brains of one of theirs into peanut butter. Even though they’d be as relieved as everyone else, to be rid of the bitch.”
D’rorah rolled her eyes heavenward, cheeks puffing out briefly at the unmistakable sounds of explosion. “Light’s sake.” With great power came the ability for ever-greater fuck ups. She lifted her arms to try to fix the damage. “Next we will have that Gervais fellow on our heads,” she muttered.
"I could use a bit of help, I think." She was trying to be better about asking for help. Arguably she probably should have asked before… but the time wasn’t really ripe for quibbling over shoulds.
"Gervais?" repeated Jagged, furrowing his brow. "Ah yes...that Gervais." In a side-universe where Maleficent was more than just a tale to frighten children, Gervais came riding upon the scene, intent upon marrying the princess and inheriting the kingdom. Never mind that the princess wasn't remotely interested; and worse yet...that the fool hadn't bothered to find out her name. Or rather...he had heard it incorrectly. He had been told Aurora...but when he met D'rorah he was convinced that was the name he heard...
And speaking of names...just as if saying the name 'Gervais' three times was a summoning...into the valley of falling frogs, flying pigs and Muppet saboteurs rode the knight in shining armor.
Lance at the ready he galloped up to D'rorah and Jagged. "Never fear, my lady!" he proclaimed. "I'll save thee from this saucy varlet! You, sirrah!" he said, raising his visor to look down his nose at Jag. "Unhand my betrothed, or suffer my wrath!"
Jagged smirked. "I believe as the challenged party...the choice of weapons is mine. I choose..." He raised both hands over his head, then pointed them at his adversary. "Oxidation!"
