Takimoto Miori, the female lead in Taemin’s first Japanese drama Final Life, mentioned him in a previous post of her official blog back in September (170926): “I had the privilege of working together for the first time with SHINee’s Taemin-san. Whilst [handling] a demanding [task of speaking] both Japanese and English in his first Japanese drama, he even [held] a concert! He’s amazing. Hat’s off to his powerfulness, I admire him. {171107} Modelpress (tr: mredwardsanders — do not delete credits) (...) — The scene of Sion coming off of the helicopter at the beginning was very beautiful and also stunning (impressive). Taemin: Thank you. I just kind of walked naturally for that scene so there wasn't anything I was particularly careful about [t/n: I might have misinterpreted his words here]. If it came off nicely on screen then I guess I was lucky (laughs) — It turned out cool! Did you practice [for the] action [scenes]? Taemin: Yes. But I think I have potential in doing action [scenes]! I did practice but I was able to do various action [scenes] without requiring that much time. — It must be because you have trained your body until now through dance and training. Taemin: That might be the case (laughs) — Was there anything you prepared before starting shooting? Taemin: I had English lines so I practiced the pronunciation the best I could. Sion was raised in the United States so I needed to try and make my facial expression and reactions American but the pronunciation was especially difficult so I practiced [the lines] listening to the recording I received. I'm still worried even now. I still haven't been able to watch the videos... [t/n: the interview was taken in mid-September] — You were very cool / awesome! How was it after actually entering the filming site? Taemin: What was fun was... the food was delicious (laughs). They prepared a lot of catering and refreshments for us. I tried out a lot of [food]. — What did you especially like / find delicious? Taemin: I learned about Chinese chilled noodles! — So you had one for the first time! Taemin: Yes. And I was happy that I made more Japanese friends. I know Matsuda-san's contact... it feels strange (laughs). WHen I saw him write about me on Instagram, I thought, "I really do know Matsuda-san!" and was happy (laughs) — Is it like "[I know] a celebrity I used see across the screen...!" (laughs) Taemin: Yes. Even now, whenever I turn on the TV and find Matsuda-san on screen, I think "to think that I know this person", it's really fun (laughs)(...) — Please give a message for the fans including your goals for your solo activities. Taemin: I myself don't know how I will turn out either but I want to challenge various things and develop my identity. I will continue to show myself as I grow so please believe in me as you watch. — This will be the last [question], frankly what is your charm as "Artist - Taemin"? Taemin: I want to be [t/n: "I want to continue to"] an artist that has mastered / excels in both dancing and singing. — Then now, you can add "acting" there as well. Taemin: I still don't have confidence in that [area]...! I'm honest so (laughs) Private Q&A Q. A moment when you feel the most relieved / relaxed? Taemin: When I'm watching movie(s) before I sleep. I'm able to feel at ease. I dose off while watching a movie, and when I wake up the first time I turn off the TV, then I sleep again (laughs) Q. A piece you watched recently that left an impression on you? Taemin: "Spiderman: Homecoming" that I watched recently. To watch that, I watched all of "Spiderman" 1, 2, 3 and "Amazing Spiderman" 1 and 2, and I finally arrived at [Spiderman: Homecoming] yesterday (laughs). By reviewing the story from the beginning I realized the charm of Marvel films. It had a different impression (I received a different impresion) from the "Spiderman" I watched as a child. Q. Do you also watch movies on flight? Taemin: I sleep on the plane (laughs) Q. What made you happy recently? Taemin: When I meet with the SHINee members I get excited and happy after all. The five [of us] getting together gives me more strength than anything else.
