I want to hear more about some specific Hela and Fenrir shenanigans!
Oh, thank you, Anon, for asking!
Here are some young Hela and Fenrir Lavellan shenanigans!
1) When they were pretty young, around age 6, Hela told this ridiculous tale about a monster in the forest to the other children, saying it had to be true, her father was a hunter and told her so. She called it the Nevernear and it would make a cackling noise before it pounced. When the other children asked Fenrir if she was lying, he backed her up, like he always did, adding in more details, like that it would tickle children who caught its eye, then Hela adding that it loved the color green (which, y’know, was a common color in Dalish clothing).
Several of the children started refusing to wear green and Hela once scared a couple of them by sneaking up and making a cackling noise. Once their parents got wind of it, they had to apologize and recant, but they weren’t overly sincere. It didn’t stop them from trying a similar gambit the next year.
2) Oh, once they both got their magic, oh goodness, the trouble they got into. They would often sneak out of their aravel and practice or set up some prank. Most nights their parents would catch them (Solana, Fenrir’s mom, would make them come inside). Aegirthorn (Hela’s father) would usually just secretly follow them and make sure they didn’t get into too much mischief.
One time they weren’t caught, Hela accidentally set her hair on fire, before Fenrir put it out with some summoned snow. She was trying to learn how to juggle and she thought it was a good idea to juggle with fire to start, like the human juggler they met while trading with Fenrir’s mother. Her hair had to be cropped down after that, but she said it was worth it.
3) One incident was when they decided to move the Fen’harel statue each night in front of a certain person’s aravel (someone they didn’t like - the person was rude) and leaving ‘wolf tracks’ around. They managed this for a couple weeks before they were found out. They had to do a lot of chores after that one. (This also added to the fact that some clan members called Hela “blessed/cursed of Fen’Harel” - since it was known that she was often the instigator.)
4) One Fenrir led shenanigan was that when he was 12 and used his magic to leave penis shaped icicles around the camp. Like, just phallic enough to look like a penis, but also vague enough to possibly be natural? Hela was delighted and would spend the winter mornings trying to find all the dicks (it became a challenge - he started hiding them). When one of the clan member complained publicly about at the dicks, their plot was revealed when both Hela and Fenrir started laughing. They weren’t punished for it, since it was harmless, but the side-eye they got from their grandmother made them stop…or at least be more discrete.

Commission of my OCs, Fenrir and Hela Lavellan, by @angelfolks! Look how cute they are as kids!!!
After seeing this, I was inspired to write a little scene between these two, Pre-Inquisition!
Hide and Seek
Fenrir ducked under the fence to the halla pen, his violet eyes searching, seeking. Behind the water trough, he saw the bit of black hair and pointed ears.
His quarry found!
Stepping silently, heart pounding, he slipped through the paddock, the halla nestling him as he went. He gently pushed them away, their fur soft in his hands, but he was focusing on his target. Edging around the side, he took a deep breath and leaped around, startled blue-gold eyes flashing up towards him.
“A-ha! I found you!” Fenrir declared triumphantly, his white braid flipping across his shoulder.
Hela squealed in surprise, her ears twitching. She soon recovered, though, and stuck her tongue out at him. “I let you win! Next time, you will never find me! I will use my magic!” She stood up, confidence in her posture, shoulders back, chin up.
It had been two months since her magic manifested, two months since her family aravel had been scorched, the side still singed. It might have burned entirely if not for her grandmother’s quick action, using her own magic to quench the flames.
“No magic or it isn’t fair!” Fenrir pouted, crossing his arms. He didn’t want to say he was jealous, but he was. Hela had magic, like grandmother’s magic. And he didn’t. Hela and he did everything together, but now…
One of the halla wandered over and sniffed at his head, tickling so that he couldn’t keep from giggling. He reached up his small hand to scratch at its cheek.
Hela gave him a look, rolling her eyes, but a look of understanding crossing her youthful face. “Fine. But you still won’t be able to find me! Even without magic!” She punched his arm, her eyes sparkling. “You just got lucky this time!”
He gave her a lopsided grin, negative thoughts slipping away, his cousin’s familiar teasing reminding him that no matter what, they were still friends. Nothing would change that, not even magic. “You have to find me first! You have to count to 50 this time and no cheating!”
She threw her hands over her eyes and started counting loudly. “One! Two! Three!”
Fenrir started to protest, but seeing the huge grin on her face, he just shook his head and bounded off through the pen, towards his hiding place.
Hela was going to have a hard time finding him!
Joy thrumming through him, Fenrir slipped back out of the pen and into the camp, his cousin’s voice fading in the background as he ran.
If Ciembe Mahariel had a kid... (For the OC kid meme)
Thank you for asking, friend!
Ciembe and Zevran have three children, eventually. One biological daughter and two adopted former-crow recruits. I will answer this for their daughter.
Name: Carmen Mahariel
Gender: female
General Appearance: Black hair like her mother, golden eyes like her parents, her father’s nose, delicate elven ears. 5″4′.
Personality: serious, sharp-tongued, sarcastic, determined, and analytical
Special Talents: She started training with blades as soon as she could grip the handle, but unlike her parents, she specializes in throwing blades. She can walk unseen through the forest as easily as the city. She is also an excellent forger.
Who they like better: Tied, really, but if I had to choose, Zevran.
Who they take after more: Ciembe
Personal Head canon: Carmen was raised closely with the royal twins, Duncan and Rose. She knows the castle as well as anything and it is as close to a home base as she and her siblings have. When she is 15, she runs away to find a clan of Dalish and returns several months later, with a Mythal vallaslin, to match her mother’s. Ciembe was angry at first, wishing she had waited a year, but also proud that her daughter took such initiative to get what she wanted.
Face Claim:
Fenrir and Dorian for the kid meme! :D
Thank you for asking, Kat!
Okay, here we go!
Name: Officially, Alexander Felix Thyrin Lavellan-Pavus, but he goes by Xander.
Gender: male
General Appearance: scrawny, elf-blooded mage, with ginger hair and brown eyes, near-sighted, scars from living on the streets.
Personality: Inquisitive, brash, bold, snarky, reckless, defiant
Special Talents: Gifted in storm magics, speed reader, pick-pocketing
Who they like better: Dorian (Dorian is less strict)
Who they take after more: A good combination of the two, really, with his own distinct flare, but if I had to choose…Dorian.
Personal Head canon: After the Exalted Council, Fenrir proposes to Dorian and shortly there after they are married. They debate for some time about adopting a child. Eventually, they decide that yes, they would like a child. So, they sent about adopting. But, things don’t go quite as planned. While traveling, a small boy steals a book off of Fenrir. Impressed, he checks in on them and finds out they are an orphan working on a farm (sent out from the city orphanage). Seeing the child’s inclination towards learning, Fenrir brings him home to Dorian and they make things official, giving him the best of everything. A year after they adopt him, he develops his magic, which thrills his dads immensely.
Face Claim:
damita + leli ??
Thank you for asking, friend!
Damita and Leliana eventually adopt two teenage daughters, so I will answer for the older of the two.
Name: Delphine Josephine Surana
Gender: female
General Appearance: A Romanesque nose, with dark brown hair, dark amber eyes. 5″5′. Elf-blooded.
Personality: quick-witted, impulsive, outspoken, defensive, and kindhearted
Special Talents: As a personal favor to the Divine and one of the Heroes of Ferelden, Zevran trains the elder Surana daughter with blades, she adapts quickly, but soon realizes she prefers the power behind a sword. Cassandra takes her under her wing and teaches her. She is very adept. I will say that she has a particular talent for stirring up controversy in the capitol, because she rarely holds her tongue.
Who they like better: Damita
Who they take after more: Leliana
Personal Head canon: Delphine is 15 when she is adopted, a year older than her adopted sister, Beata. She was one of the children orphaned by the Red Templars in the Emprise du Lion. She takes to life as the daughter of Divine Victoria, but does not lose her fire in opposing the opulence of Orlesian nobility.
