character sheet for my new daggerheart pc miss kitty! got to play a lil last weekend and it’s been soooo fun so far 💕
I am GMing a Daggerheart Campaign.
I like this idea that I've seen regarding entering combat is that ensuring every player gets a chance to go before one player goes twice. There doesn't have to be an order for the combat using initiative but it still helps ensure that everyone gets a chance. I've only done one combat scene but I have loosely employed that rule. I also allow players to react depending on how I have the enemies in the scene act. This is still an obvious work in progress but I have a feeling that the rules, even when the beta finishes, will still lack the concreteness that other systems such as dnd 5e and witcher ttrpg employ. All in all this is a fun way to play. I gave out a number of stresses to my players based on rolls and that seemed to spur them to try to do things to either erase those stresses or take bigger actions to try to end things more quickly. There is a fun desperation involved after a series of fear rolls.
I kind of feel like Marisha's character is trying to be Barbarella Sasparilla from Pirates of Leviathan
My Sunday D&D group finally got a chance to play Daggerheart and it's a real fun system! We did the lv1 test adventure with pre-made haracters, and will do another one now where we create our own to see fully how the character generation works but it does give a lot more freedom especially in combat as there is no turn order. And the Hope/Fear system is geat fun!
Because I needed a possible encounter with an alligator (or more) I made a level 0 alligator.
Alligator
Attack Mod: +2
Bite: Melee | 2d8 phy
difficulty: 13
Minor 3 | Major 7 | Severe 11
HP: 6
Stress: 2
EXP: Camouflage (in water) +2
Moves
Bite and Hold, When Bite attack succeeds: Hold the target in your jaws. 14 STR check to break free. 1d8 crushing damage each time the held target tries to do an action.
Deathroll: Spend 2 fear to roll with the target in your jaws or make an attack on a target at very close range. Do 2d8 phy damage. Target takes a stress and is now restrained if they are not already. If already restrained they take an additional stress.
Yay for actual livestreaming!
Fuck. I love them already.
