Daniel: Darling, I was simply trying to protect you. I didn’t want you to lose your position here because of me. You’ve helped me so much. 

Irina: You know how I feel about Ava. I love you, but- she means a lot to me too. I want to help you succeed here, Daniel. And you can do it without destroying her.

Daniel: I know. I didn’t mean to destroy her or do anything treacherous- like I told you, I panicked. And in my panic in trying to protect you, I’ve made things worse for myself. When Ava finds out what I’ve done? She’ll turn my Aunt Allison against me. And if my Aunt Allison ends up hating me? My uncle will remove me from here. I’m already on thin ice with Aunt Allison as it is.

Irina: It’s no secret your uncle’s weakness is his wife. Only his wife.

Daniel: Exactly. And if Ava turns Aunt Allison against me? I’m ruined. Please help me, Irina. This is going to get back to her. She’s going to hate me. Convince Ava to forgive me or see me in a different light. I- I have strong feelings for her too. *pulls her close* I’m so confused, Irina. I get so confused in my need to make it here.

Irina gentle: Daniel-

Daniel: And you’re so kind to me. You truly are. I’m not used to kindness. Not at all. I’m so grateful to have you near me, Irina.
