Watched the Gorillaz hand animated short film ‘The Mountain’ and made an amalgam of bunch of old gorillaz fanart!
Surprise it’s basically all 2D…what can I say his brainlessness fascinates me. With a lil Noodle and Russ on the side for flavour.

Been thinking about DARE by Gorillaz and I finally think I figured out what it’s about: overthinking/ being anxious about something
just hear me out for a sec
The lyrics that made me realize this are specifically
“You’ve just been thinking that’s what you do baby”
and
“It’s coming up”
The first part is obviously talking about someone thinking a lot and the second part is talking about something that’s “coming up” that the narrator is conflicted about
They say
“you’ve got to press it on you”
and
“Jump with the moon and move it”
Which I think furthers my idea about conflicting with them wanting to take a risk or “dare” to do something. They’re scared but they also want to “jump with the moon” which reminds me of the saying “reach for the moon and if you fail fall to the stars” (I think that’s what it is or maybe a variation lol)
But what is the narrator anxious about? I don’t know. But tbh keeping it ambiguous makes it more relatable as a song and that’s kind of genius if intentional
What do you think?
Happy Birthday Noodle!
it's coming up, it's coming up, it's coming up... IT'S DARE
