franklin - who’s an underrated character in your opinion?

hm. i think i'm going to pick Morfin for this (citing your influence, Cig!). i don't see a lot of him come up, and i think there's more to be explored with his connections to other characters - Tozer, Goodsir, even Fitzjames (they both ask to be "put down," yeah?). i also find him being the one to sing "The Silver Swan" to be so endearing! him forgetting the words also lightly ties him to Goodsir, i think (something something, Goodsir forgetting David Young's name...).

btw, also: Silna for this. more love for Silna always. more love for Silna AS AN INDIVIDUAL on top of Silna's connections to other characters. please. i see a lot of love for Silna on my dash/in my corner of fandom so i wasn't sure if underrated was exactly accurate, hence that not being my initial answer? but yeah. Silna... ♡︎

15. any "paranormal" or unexplainable experiences?

hmm. yes, i think so? definitely had some unexplainable/generally spooky experiences in the woods around the place where i grew up, and at my great grandparents' house. granted, i was a kid coping with a lot of trauma with a very active imagination, so what i remember vs. What Actually Happened are likely to be very different. in general, though, i'm pretty open to the idea of the paranormal and Things Being Out There.

THIS IS SO HARD HELP. uh. fuck! one day in edinburgh. another day in japan (maybe the kitayamazaki coast?). one in finland, probably near one of the lighthouse islands. one day somewhere suuuper pretty in the pacific northwest? and a day at gjoa haven + the wrecks of the hms erebus and hms terror national historic site (assuming this is allowed and respectful).

86. if you were given $1mil on the basis that you had to put it towards something arbitrary and self-indulgent, what would you spend it on?

ohhhhh shit. uh. every single perfume i have ever wanted. rare books. every opera score and archival theory book i've passed up because of the price. tattoos. really good weed. even better soup dumplings. the fanciest dinner for my partner and i imaginable. and a lavish as fuck dinner party for all of my friends/mutuals.

anywho. this is a cover for @bell-swamp-fitzjames, who made a beautiful edit to this song and had the kindness to dedicate it to me. the crane wives as a band is a Huge One For Me, and Never Love an Anchor is a Terror anthem, imo. (it's what my main goodcollins chapfic is named after!!) i did record a previous cover of this earlier in the year, but wanted to do it again because of cig's lovely editing skills.

and cig? you're a fucking gem. a powerhouse of a person, a creative, and a friend. love you loads, bud.
