Darman
ten+ headcanons for this guy coming right up! from this meme
He’s not really quick-witted or quippy, rather a deep thinker. He likes to ruminate on a concept for a good long while, then when he discusses it he has rock solid points.
Next to his own RC-1136 designation, Taler was the RC-1135 he asked after while delaying to load up post-Geonosis, and he misses his closest brother immensely.
Boss (RC-1138) was from their decant batch as well, and Fixer (RC-1140) from the next one. Thus they’re all just a little bit more well-known to each other than the other members of Omega and Delta.
Vin and Jay often haunt his mind as well. He knew the other three Thetas the longest of all the people he’s ever been on a squad with.
He’s lost a lot of people, and though he’s quiet about it, he never stops grieving.
He likes doing various mathematical calculations (like detonation yields) and so does Fi (like sniper windages), so they often play number games to pass the time.
Once he successfully wraps his mind around Corr not being a 1-to-1 replacement for Fi, he allows himself to enjoy his company more, and he’s the brother Corr gravitates to most often. They like to chat about explosions in ways that horrify everyone who hears them.
His name is a bit of morbid humor, a play on dar’manda, which can be translated in a variety of ways, none of them pleasant. (dead man, lost soul, no longer mandokarla, etc.) He stuck with it because it made Skirata uncomfortable and he thinks the sergeant should have to face the reality of the clones’ status at all times.
He likes kids even if he is not ready to be a parent himself.
The memory of meeting Etain in that glade on Qiilura is a feature of his spank bank. He’s a little sentimental and it was really pretty, okay?
He’s slightly demisexual in that he finds the people he likes more attractive as he gets to know them better.
He’s very loyal and focused, but not necessarily to one singular recipient, both romantically and in a more general sense.
He holds a grudge like nobody’s business.

Etain didn’t wait for further permission. She burst across the open passage, bolting the distance in a handful of impossible strides. Only paces before she would have closed the distance entirely, she sprung, not just forward but up, landing neatly on her feet on the balcony roughly five meters above them.
At any other time the display of Force-acrobatics- the uncanny movement that still came so joyously easy when she let go of her restraint- would have been ill-advised. This mission was different though. If they were discovered, there would be no hiding what she was.
She took the lightsaber from her belt and thumbed it on with a familiar-snap hiss, the blue light reflecting eerily off her black armor as she cut through the access panel. Durasteel was no match for the weapon; it only took seconds. Then she turned back to Darman, gesturing for him to advance behind her.

Etain didn’t bother to look back over her shoulder, scrambling forward over the rocks with a grace that only ever seemed to fall over her in combat. Reaching out to the Force and stretching out her senses, she came quickly to the next jutting boulder and feel behind it into cover.
Her hand went reflexively to her belt, where her lightsaber should be- and then she sighted up her rifle instead. Two presences ahead she signaled to Darman, out of sight but in their path. Not Force-users, she thought, or she would have taken the time to retrieve the lightsaber from the harness partially hidden beneath her bag and cloak.
"You'll stay with me?"
Etain perched gingerly on the edge of their bunk, taking his hand in hers and brushing her lips feather-light across the knuckles before placing it in her lap.
“Of course,” she promised, “I’m not going anywhere.”
The medical droid could say whatever it wanted about Darman needing rest; Etain wasn’t going to stop Darman resting. But she also wasn’t going to leave him now.

Etain looked down at the glittery, sticky-sweet pastry in her hands, resisting the urge to laugh. The small green and gold frosted cake was shaped almost exactly like the much larger fish that currently appeared to be making faces and generally giving Darman attitude from behind its transparisteel wall.
The cake was almost too cute to eat- unlike its bigger sibling, who had apparently gotten tired of Dar, and was now swimming huffily off with a sharp thwap of its long back fin- but after a moment she snapped the head cleanly off and popped it into her mouth. She wasn’t normally much of a fan of sweets, but this little fish was filled with some kind of thick jam and little bits of yellow tropical fruit, and she made an appreciative noise as she chewed.
She held the second, larger piece out delicately to Darman. Her face was alight with fascination as, rather than looking to see if he was interested in the offering, she fixed her gaze on an iridescent fish. As the fish it was startled, it defensively flashed it’s mirror-like scales in an attempt to blind its audience. Rather than look away, Etain smiled.
“I always forget how many different species live underwater where we’ll never see them,” she said.
“You may now…. Do the thing.”
Etain let out a noise that was halfway between a snort and a laugh, then abruptly grabbed the hand he had placed on her leg to steady herself. Seated on Darman’s shoulders, lightbulb in hand, she couldn’t quite look down to see his face, but she could feel him shaking slightly as he laughed.
“Am I kissing the bride?” she asked as he stepped around her too-short kitchen chair directly in front of the swinging lamp, “Or fixing the light?”
Tucking her legs a little tighter against his grip, she reached out and grabbed the light fixture, still wobbling ever so slightly as she did so. “Dar, stop shaking. I swear next time I’m just going to wait until Niner’s finished with the ladder.”
Nevertheless, once she had the old bulb in hand she couldn’t resist the urge to bend down and brush her lips across the top of his head, followed by a small-
“Things look odd from up here.”
Did you know our sweet Tal'ika is spending time with -- GASP -- Those Delta folks. And, has proceeded in 'taking' Sev as her Padawan. Please, inform her of: 'No.'
@darman-1136
“Darman, ignoring that Sev isn’t Force-sensitive and she can’t train him, so long as he’s not teaching her to wrestle Trandoshans or encouraging her to take up assassinations, I don’t think we have much room to forbid her associating with him and his brothers.”
“Besides, I really don’t see what’s wrong with Delta anyway.”
