Ok so it's Wednesday... aka scale day for me. This past week has not been consistent. I haven't been doing my shakes right I haven't been eating well, and lord knows other than lots of walking at work I haven't been exercising. All that being said today the scale shows up up 3.3 pounds. That's all of my thus far progress reversed plus an extra pound but here's why I am still claiming victory. These red pants are A) my favorite pair of pants, B ) the smallest pants I own... and C) today they fit. I can comfortably wear them and whenever I wear these pants I feel wonderful. I don't know what it is about this particular pair but I feel good despite what that hunk of plastic in the bathroom says. Sure I'm bummed that I gained... who wouldn't be, but something I want to remind y'all and myself is that that number is of no effect on my true self worth. I am beautiful, kind, a daughter of the Living God, and I am capable of doing anything I set my mind to. This new week is just that a brand new unwritten page. So every choice I make will contribute to making a change on what I see this time next week. Organizing Our Time With Yah in Mind

As I’ve been walking through this fast, I’ve realized something: abstaining from food and even worldly pleasures hasn’t been the hardest part. What has been challenging is carving out the time to really sit with Yah in His Word.

It’s not that I don’t want to—I truly do. But between early mornings at work, late afternoons, and everything in between, the hours slip away quickly. And if I’m honest, I catch myself making excuses.

So I’ve had to rebuke myself more than once in a day. Whenever I’m about to get caught up in something, I stop and ask: “Do I need to be doing this right now? Or could I open the Word, whisper a prayer, or just sit in silence with Yah?”

That self-check is crucial, because the truth is, we cannot afford to keep running on empty. We cannot go throughout our day without Yah and still call it “blessed.” Without His direction, without His instruction, we risk wandering in circles. He is our guide and our compass. Yes, we can navigate life in our own strength for a while, but in the end, we don’t want a solo act—we want to finish this journey with Him.

This is a call for me, and maybe for you too: no more slacking off. No more excuses. Every moment is an opportunity to realign our time and attention to the One who holds it all together.
