I see “Damian becomes the next Batman” and I raise you “Damian becomes the next Alfred”.

Like a highly trained civilian who will to do what needs to be done if someone fucks with their home or family, who otherwise just kinda vibes around the house, taking care of the animals and plants and judging the family’s poor life choices and silently taking care of them

For Damian, what saved him wasn’t vigilantes or being a vigilante, but the love and respect he received from Alfred (and dick, but dick has his own stuff and isn’t always around like Alfred was). Damian never needed a hero to rescue him, he needed someone who cared for and supported him regardless of what happened.

And while i think Damian doesn’t mind being a vigilante and saving people (possibly using it as a way to redeem himself for the killing he did in his childhood), I think it be cool if he retired much earlier than the others. He’s fought and been surrounded by fighting and death his entire life, and he’d either tire of it, or realize, “hey, maybe subjecting myself to something that keeps me in the constant state if flight or fight i’ve been in since childhood isn’t healthy” (though this realization would likely need to come after he spent time away from both sides of his family, and think about the fact that in the beginning he never had a choice and then continued to fight because it was what he was good at/was scared that bis family would throw him out if he wasn’t useful, because you cannot tell me he just gets over the trauma from his childhood with only a few years a kindness) and decide to help the effort by being the person who supports from the sidelines, who is there when the others come home.

Also the pure hilarity of a new and naive villain who figures out the batfams identity is like “haha! Ill kidnap the civilian family member as a hostage!” And that “civilian” being someone who killed many of people before the age 10, then was a vigilante for years, and is currently very pissed about his art show being interrupted.

Idk i just think he deserves a life a of (relative) peace after all the shit he’s gone through

“Konner give it back!” Y/n yelled, chasing her brother around the house.

“No way!”  Konner yelled back laughing his but off.

“Konner!” Y/n continued to chase him as he headed down the stairs.

“Woah, woah, woah.” Clark walked into the room, blocking the two teens from leaving the room once they got off the stairs. “What's going on?” 

“Konnor stole my phone.” Y/n spoke first, pointing to her phone in Konners hand.

“Konner?” Clark questioned his son with a raised eyebrow.

“I just wanted to tease her.” he sighed seeing the look their dad was giving him he decided to add on… “She’s texting a boy!”

With that being said Clarks attention instantly switched to his daughter. “Are you? Texting a boy?”

“Dad!” Y/n shouted with wide eyes. How the hell did this change to her so quickly? She thought.

“Clark, that's no one’s business but Y/n’s. Isn’t it Konner?” Martha said as she entered the room as well. Deciding to save her granddaughter from having to spill about her secret texting and randayves.

“Yes grandma” Konner mumbled, looking away. “Yes, Ma. But-” Clark started but she cut him off.

Martha shook her head. “No, no buts. Now Konner give your sister back her phone.”

“Here.” Konner handed her back her phone.

“Thanks.” Y/n grabbed her phone from him.

Martha smiled at the exchange. “Now you two go head up stairs and get along.”

“Yes grandma.” Y/n and Konner spoke at the same time, doing as told.

Once the kids were up in their rooms Clark turned to his mother. “She’s texting boys now? Isn’t that something I should be asking her about?”

Martha chuckled at her son. “Don’t worry about it Clark.”

“Why not?” Clark asked confused

Martha smiles at her son, loving this side of him. “Because she talks to me about that stuff.

Clark stands there dumbfounded for a moment. “What- what? She talks to you about boys?”

Martha laughed at her son, iys girl talk why would she tell him? Especially with who the boy is. “Of course. Its girl talk.”

Clark followed his mom into the kitchen. “Can you at least tell me something- anything?”

Martha turned to look at Clark amused. “I’m not going to spill anything we talked about in secret.” she could see that there is concern in Clarks eyes. “But to ease your mind I’ll tell you that you don’t have to worry about the said boy.”

“Why not? Who is he?” Clark asked, now even more interested to know.

Moving around to get everything ready to make dinner. “Its one of those Wayne boys and that's all I’m saying.”

Clark stood there now more confused and worried than before. “And that's supposed to make me not worry?”

so i saw the batman (2022) last night

and all i have to say, aside from the fantastic portrayal of batman by robert pattinson and selina by zoe kravits, is paul dano really has such an incredible range. i mean he went from playing this adorable little dork in war and peace (2016)-----

to this----

and honestly, wow. i’m blown away.
