On This Day In The DC Universe (Happy Birthday, Uncle Dudley!)
According to the Super DC Calendar 1976, today, April 28th, is the in-universe birthday of the very silly Captain Marvel supporting character Uncle Dudley, aka Uncle Marvel.
He doesn't really have any powers, just so you know.

On This Day In The DC Universe (Happy Birthday to the Marvel Twins*, and a Belated B-Day for Damian!**)
According to the Super DC Calendar 1976, today is the in-universe birthday of the mightiest mortals on Earth, Billy Batson (Captain Marvel), and his long lost twin sister, Mary Bromfield (Mary Marvel). And yes, they're twins. DC tried to change that and I hate it. I love found family stuff to pieces, but them being twins was cute. Happy birthday, you two big cheeses!
*It should be noted that in Shazam! #4 (1973), their birthday was actually set as April 1st. So take that as you will.
Also, something I thought about doing but forgot to days ago!
December 20th is one possible birthday for Damian Wayne, aka Robin V. Sort of.
**The date comes from a 2023 animated movie called Merry Little Batman. This means that the date isn't canon. Not mainline canon, which is what we're talking about. Damian has no established birthday in mainline canon.
Some people have given him an August birthday, which is FANON, and I can't remember the precise day, but I can't say I like that. Jason's canon b-day is August, Stephanie's widely accepted b-day is August. I know some people that gave Duke an August birthday in some mixing of the date and year he appeared in or something like that.
Damian having an August birthday would make it the third of fourth in a single month, and that's getting a little cramped. So if I had to pick a day, I'd prefer December.
On This Day In The DC Universe (Happy Birthday, Mr. Mind!)
Today, December 5th, marks the in-universe birthday of Mr. Mind, the world's wickedest worm, and Captain Marvel villain. And yes, that is a tiny radio around his neck.
I just got my copy of Dawn of DC Shazam #2 and read it twice in 6 hours.
It's so fun!
Every panel's gorgeous.
The story captures the feel of the original Captain Marvel stories that I love.
I don't like that this is Earth 0 Billy, with the entire Vasquez family, keeping much of the changes Geoff Johns made to the character and cast which I deplore.
That said, given what I suspect is due to DC editorial decisions, this is as close to the original Cap as we can ever get.
At least they've stopped calling him Shazam *cringe*
I like that the focus is on Billy. He's the heart of Captain Marvel. What makes the hero so special.
Mark Waid gets him right and the artwork is simply amazing!
Instead of having him bashing up bigger and badder baddies, or stopping some world ending cosmic event, I adore the challenges he faces here and subsequent introspection.
Finally, DC remembers that he has the Wisdom of Solomon and shows him using it.
I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil it for you. All I can say is that this a must read.

I loved the first issue so much I re-read it the next day and keep checking Amazon for when #2 is available for pre-order.
Mark Waid & Dan Mora are the dream team. The art's amazing. The story is so much fun and leaves me hungry for more!
I just read #1 Mark Waid's new Shazam series and it's phenomenal. He really gets it!
There hasn't been any Shazam writer that really got it since Power of Shazam and I bought and read all of them.
It's worth the decades long wait.
The artwork captures the fun lighthearted feel of Cap immediately. Enough of all that darkness. Enough making Cap a B-lister used to make other heroes look better. Cap deserves better and Mark Waid is bringing him back!
Cap's fun. Whimsical. His expression shows the boy's wonder in the adult hero's body.
The twist at the end was totally unexpected. Brilliant. Yet if you re-read the earlier panels, it makes sense.
Sorry for gushing but I loved this so much. If you haven't read it yet, go get it.
I'm waiting for the preorders to open for #2 because I don't want to miss that
