MC sharing their experience over being replaced by AI at Valdivian in the Legend of Sassy 2 con panel and name dropping Willi, another lovely friend of theirs who’s currently a consultant at Valdivian repairing the damage done by giving control to AI. MC’s currently pen pals with Willi and she’d often give updates on how’s it going there in Valdivian! I don’t think we talk enough abt her story bc a major plot point in Willi’s story is her questioning of AI taking over jobs.
This is a long one so bear with me but in MC’s own words:
“I felt so uncertain about my own future the moment that darn AI took away my job right after I just applied at Valdivian. It’s like the ice cream man gave me an ice cream, only for him to take it away from me right after and I don’t like that he promised me hope before spitting in my face right after, just like how it was in Valdivian. My good friend Willi even questioned her worth as she witnesses the rise of AI right in front of her eyes and let me tell you that I’ve also seen so many people feeling violated over their faces and voices used without consent just for the sake of self indulgence going too far or corporations choosing to be lazy. Becoming a voice actor means a lot to me for many reasons. Humans deserve to see their hard work being appreciated instead of being spat on and discarded for the sake of AI, and no amount of training AI received will match the sheer passion and spark I felt voicing the lead character of Legend of Sassy 2. We put so much heart, passion, and soul in the game and I want everyone here to feel that feeling me and the producers felt when we developed this game. Special thanks for Connie for giving me the opportunity to be the lead star of this game, my boyfriends for being the most supportive partners ever even though I kept it a surprise that I starred in this game, Willi for being my rock during this entire AI fiasco at Valdivian, and every one of you guys here for supporting me and Legend of Sassy 2. This wasn’t the future I expected at all, but one last thing I’ll say is that this entire experience also means a lot as someone who’s been affected by the rise of AI.”
