I think what I find most hilarious about Dead Enders is that they insist that Rumple & Regina don’t deserve their own happy endings, but H00k does despite all he’s done and hasn’t made up for/paid for it any way, shape or form.
HOWEVER, they for the most part hate Wish Hook, despite the fact that he has made up for his sins and paid for them. He’s a changed man and wants to do right by his family. And they don’t care about his happy ending.
Yet, they do for a man that has killed thousands, is in a toxic af relationship where it’s clear he’s still controlling her or trying to (he tried to make her stay on bed rest when she’s in the first trimester of her pregnancy and told her not to hug her son because it could hurt the baby...) and didn’t want to tell his future father-in-law that he killed his father yet didn’t want to remember it, because that’d just be too damn hard for him.
Y’all want him to have a happy ending, yet not the ones that have made up for and grown.
Dead Enders: Castle in Cassiopeia

There’s a subset of Rumbelle fans who are angry at what they see as Rumple’s suicide mission, and at Belle’s death - not to mention Gideon being an orphan. As a Rumbeller, I get being upset at Emilie being let go - I miss her terribly - but Belle lived a long life, and more than that, she fulfilled all of her dreams (traveling the world with her Eternal love and their baby boy); she was happy! I think some forget that everyone will also die - we just won’t see it (personally I consider myself
lucky that I got an exquisite Belle death (Bobby and Em!), and that we’ll get an equally powerful Rumple death. He’s 400 years old - his dying is not a tragedy, not at this stage where he’s become the man he always wanted to be, and that Belle knew he was. Gideon loves his mama and papa so much that he was willing to take the dagger to reunite them - as crushed as he was by Belle’s death and will be by Rumple’s, he’ll also be happy knowing they’re together. He’s going to see them again.
I think some forget that everyone will also die - we just won’t see it.
This is really, really important. Rumple isn’t the only character that’s ever going to die. But this is his happy ending-being reunited with Belle. I get this may not be the ending that people want, but they are reunited and I honestly think it’s nitpicky to say “Well what about Gideon?” When he is a grown man, with frankly, old parents. He, himself, wanted to take on the darkness so his father could die and be reunited with his mother. He is fine with this happening.
One grown side character becoming an “orphan” (which is a stretch considering again, he’s an adult) does not mean that the show is not about hope. In fact, I think Rumbelle’s plotline this season says the opposite. And I think the show did a great job keeping Belle and her spirit alive, even without Emilie not always being present throughout it.
I also know that these people would be pissed if the opposite happened and Rumple didn’t die and he was forever the Dark One. Nothing that’s done will be good enough. Which is why I say they’re (the small group of people because they don’t represent the majority)just as bad as the group of C$ fans that will complain until they get their 90 minutes of fluff (that’s never going to come). You’re getting a lot more than some ships ever will.

Surprisingly not terrible! (for an ALTER short)
Horror Short Review: Dead Enders (2024)
Dead Enders is an old-school monster horror short from Fidel Ruiz-Healy & Tyler Walker. It comes in at around twelve and a half minutes, and stars Skarlett Red, Jeff Murdoch, Joseph Rene, and Lilliana Winkworth.

Setting out exactly what it is from the start, we see some sort of crab-like parasite deep in the earth. Directly above it? Luckee’s Petroleum & Frack Shack. Oh boy. Can you see where…

DEAD ENDERS
Now, can't you see yourself scrolling through Tubi and finding a 90-minute version of this short film? No? Well, I certainly can, and this is the type of B-Horror movie fun I can get behind. Practical monster, quirky characters, creative low budget vibes, and plain fun and silly! I'm sure the team of Fidel Ruiz-Healy & Tyler Walker have a script they're pitching to capitalize on that scenario, but in the meantime, let's enjoy Dead Enders for the cool short it is.
