Dearborn county native here! I actually spent a good portion of my childhood on Lincoln street. If my guess is correct, I believe that was one of the neighborhood chomos houses. There were definitely plenty in the area, but he sticks out in my mind the most. I lived caddy corner across the street from his dad, and he wasn’t much better.

Aurora is seen locally as the more “white trash” town (am white trash from the area, so can confirm). It’s definitely got a higher homeless population than Lawrenceburg (town up river), and Lincoln street in particular is actually known for being one of the “bad” streets in town.

It sits on the river right between Lawrenceburg and Rising Sun. Schools and larger projects in the area are mostly funded by the casinos in both Lawrenceburg and Rising Sun.

Fun/weird/not great/slight local conspiracy: if I had a nickel for every kid that has died from an aggressive cancer, I’d have two nickels. It’s not a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

Oh god, thank you for casting some local light on this part of the country (I hope you're in a better place now; meaning literally).
