...WHY ARE YOU COWERING? I AM EXPRESSING THE 'HOLIDAY SPIRIT.'
Death and Eugene
Eᴠᴇɴ Mᴏʀᴇ Iɴᴄᴏʀʀᴇᴄᴛ Qᴜᴏᴛᴇs
Eugene: No, this is not a mess. You know what I consider a mess? Death: Your life? Eugene: I- well yes, but-
Death: I could kill you if I wanted. Eugene: Yeah? So could any other human being. So could a dog. So could a dedicated duck. You aren't special.
Death: Hey, wanna hear a funny joke? Eugene: I only like dark humor. Death, turning the lights off: What do you call a fake noodle? Eugene: Death: An IMPASTA!
@bexmuses
Death was well-acquainted with irony. It was astonishing how often a person's last words were statements such as 'one time won't kill me,' or 'don't worry, I know what I'm doing.'
But this was a new form of irony, even for the eons-old being. Even as he stood in a tall tower, waiting to sever the silver strand of life connecting mortal coil to immortal soul, the dying man at Death's feet had severed the golden strands which would have saved him. And all to save another.
Death tilted his hooded head as he regarded the young pair. The girl who had inherited the healing power of the sundrop, had been forced to prolong the life of Gothel, her eyes full of tears as she tried in vain to do the same for the dying man in her arms.
Death had already seen to Gothel. After centuries of evading her final fate, he had never seen anyone quite so horrified to see him before her soul had moved on. And now he held up the hourglass of Eugene Fitzherbert, watching as the final grains of sand dropped one by one, until at last the final grain had drained away. The man's hand fell limp at the same exact instant as Death's scythe sliced through the air.
And now the former thief was standing next to Death, staring at the flesh and bone which used to be Eugene Fitzherbert.
IF IT IS ANY COMFORT, Death said, his voice in Eugene's mind like the scraping of a heavy tomb door, THIS WAS A FAR MORE NOBLE END THAN HANGING WOULD HAVE BEEN. NASTY BUSINESS, HANGING... MORE OFTEN THAN NOT I END UP STANDING THERE, WAITING UNTIL THE KICKING HAS STOPPED. VERY AWKWARD, YOU KNOW.
New Muse Death
Death. As in the personification of the concept of death. The being who severs your mortal connection to this plane when you've passed on. At least, if you had a death significant enough to warrant such a dramatic transition into the afterlife. Perhaps if you were a person of great importance, or you had a uniquely impressive end. Or perhaps it's just because the grand author of your life happens to think your death was a good place for Death to show up.
This Death is based on the version as seen in Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, but given the multi-versal nature of RPing this muse is technically multiple muses. A personification of death for whatever world or realm he appears in. The fact that he is always a black-robed skeleton with a scythe and a pale horse can be chalked up to the fact that human imagination is much the same in every universe.
Death is, despite his occupation, a good and (when possible) kind being who has a fondness for humanity and a love of cats. He doesn't speak in quotations, as his voice isn't spoken so much as it simply enters the mind.
HIS DIALOGUE APPEARS IN ALL CAPS, LIKE THIS.
Death may not be a super active muse. We shall see.
I have lifted the lock at this point in time, at my child's behest. I recommend not interrupting his investigation however.

Muttered grumbles left the blond lips as they moved through the street, shadows pulled around them so humans would not pay attention to them. It would mean non-humans would notice more easily their presence, but at this point that might just be what Aeneas wanted.
They looked almost on a warpath, expression dark and mouth thin. Their aura of Death, however, was under a tight leash, faint. If one did not know who they were, they would pass as a demon, darkness mixed into their aura enough to cover most of it.
A tingle of familiarity coursed into their chest, and blue eyes darted to the side instinctively. A slow blink was given as their steps slowed, then lips formed a small smile as their expression lost the dark edge a bit.
The worry was still shining in their gaze, though.
“Hello, Jaspern.”
