shane prefers his salad to be properly cut up with the right dressings and proportions and balance, served in a dish with a fork. ilya on the other hand, spontaneously eats random vegetables straight out of the fridge. "ilya why do you have a carrot in each hand?" "to eat, shane." "you know we have knives and plates in the kitchen." "I don't need them. they're not going into my stomach, just the carrots are." "...well did you at least wash them?" "...." "ILYA"

on the first anniversary of their relationship, ilya gives shane an actual bouquet of ginger ale cans (canada dry, duh)

most nights they have their designated hour of 'silent hangout' which is them laid out on opposite sides of the couch, feet tangled, scrolling on their phones. (ilya frequently sends shane random videos and memes and shane watches every single one of them)

every time shane falls asleep with his head in ilya's lap he inevitably wakes up to find multiple messy tiny braids in hair courtesy of his grinning husband (longhair!shane you have my whole heart)

ilya swears shane is the worst person to go shopping with because every time ilya tries something on to ask for shane's opinion, all he gets is "you look good in everything!" but secretly he's very pleased.

on bad days, ilya wears shane's hoodie that hasn't been washed after he wore it because it still smells like his shane and it calms him down and comforts him.

during their hookup years, ilya jokingly gifted shane a teddy bear that's wearing a boston raiders jersey. he didn't think much of it and assumed shane would've discarded it. when he goes to The Cottage, he finds it on a shelf in shane's bedroom and the mere fact that not only did shane keep it, he's kept it in his cottage (undoubtedly his favourite place on earth) moves him to tears.

they have monthly double dates with harris+troy and svetlana+rose (roselana truther till the day i die)

after shane decides to try a food dish atleast once to broaden his palate, ilya is absolutely delighted to discover that Shane loves kebabs.

after their engagement, they both go around calling each other "fiance" at every opportunity. Ilya calls shane and the first thing he says is "hello, is this my fiancé speaking?", and on the other side of the phone call shane is smiling like a goner.

ilya's lockscreen is a picture of shane laughing as anya licks his cheek with a heart around it.

shane's lockscreen is a picture taken on christmas of ilya laying across yuna and david's legs while anya is seated beside them chewing on her brand new treat.
