hi guys! my name is dani but most people call me dj and this is my studyblr: deejstudies (creative, ik). i’ve been a tumblr heaux for years but this is my first attempt at a study blog! i have always admired the studyblr community from afar but seeing how i’m going to be a junior and how i needed to get my shit together like yesterday i decided to make a studyblr!!!!!11!!!!!1!!!!1 i think there is so much creativity, resolve and determination within this little online community and i want to be apart of that so i can be a better student as well as a better person. that sounds soooo cheesy but moving along with the intro (also, reblog or like this post and if you’re a studyblr i’ll follow you)
hey y’all! so since it is back to school season over where i live i decided it’d be cool if i posted some of my own personal back to school tips that ensure that i have an at least decent start to the school year. i hope these help you and don’t forget to reblog this post and follow me! if you have any questions about anything in this post feel free to shoot me an ask!
make sure you have all your school supplies! trust me when i say that you do not want to be caught on the first day of school without having what you need for class! i know personally that i am sooo anxious when i don’t have the things i need so make sure to get all the things you think you’re going to need before you start school! if your school didn’t give you a supply list either google what other students needed for that class or go based off of experience. in the worst case scenario, make sure you have all your stuff for school before the beginning of the second week.
go over that schedule homie! make sure you go over your schedule for at least 10-15 minutes before heading back to school. try and get used to the flow of your day and really visualize the routes you’ll have to take. if it’s a new school for you, try and go over the map that they give you or pay extra close attention during orientation to figure out where your classes are and how you’re going to get to them.
pack an emergency bag, for y’know, emergencies! this tip has come in clutch for me if i ever needed anything in school. make sure you take any type of bag and put it in your locker for the whole year. pack tampons/pads, a brush, a comb, extra underwear, (extra bottoms if you really want to go all out), lotion, emergency money, umbrella, etc. just in case you need these things throughout the year! remember you are at school for 8 whole hours and a lot can go down then, so it’s best to be prepared now.
prepare at night! you don’t want to forget anything on your first day at school because you were rushing in the morning. so, lay out your clothes and iron them at night, pack your lunch and book bag with all your supplies, charge your phone, update your bujo, just do what you gotta do so that when you wake up it will be a lot less stressful! (try and do this throughout the year too, trust me this helps and saves hella time)
adjust your damn sleeping schedule! i know this is hard and i have to start doing this but for the love of christ please try and go to bed earlier and wake up earlier at least 2 weeks before school begins. there is nothing worse than not getting any sleep the night before school because your sleeping schedule is still fucked up.
get to know your teachers! not all teachers are created equal and not all teachers act the same. please try and feel your teachers out for the first month so you know what they expect and what you can get away with. some teachers will let you email them reports while others will subtract points if you don’t have a hard copy on you! build a relationship with them and figure out what you gotta do to ace the class!
have at least 2 trustworthy acquaintances in all your classes! this is for all my peeps who are sick a lot (hey y’all) or who miss a lot of days for other reasons: please do yourself a favor and get the number, email, or whatever of at least 2 people who are likely to do their work in your class. this is useful bc they can send you notes if you miss a day, help you with homework, or be wonderful group members in the future!
are your summer projects finished? don’t be that kid who doesn’t have their summer projects and all their pre-reqs done before the first day of school. it sucks to be that kid. even if you have to sparknote your way to a complete essay, it is better than having nothing at all. (i’m @/ing myself on this one)
reorganize & make a schedule! reorganize your desk/room/where you do to work before going back to school so you can feel calmer when doing your work! make an after school schedule that you know you will be able to stick to, it doesn’t have to be perfect and you can always tweak it throughout the year.
breathe!!! the most important tip on this list is to relax! school is stressful as is and you don’t need to be stressing yourself out even more! so after you do these things make sure you take some time to do what you like. go read a book, meditate, watch a movie do something! you are going to kick some serious ass this year!
if you have any more tips/ideas for going back to school, reblog this post with your tips! have an amazing school year guys and if you have any ideas for future posts or want to talk about absolutely anything, my ask box is always open!
my September spread for my bullet journal! there was no theme, just my school colors (blue & yellow if you couldn't tell) but now it looks kind of nautical-y???? this isn't the prettiest spread but i think it's going to help me and i'm proud of myself because I'm the least visually artistic person in the world

stay tuned for a post about the end of junior year within the next couple of days!
So I took my subject tests this Saturday and it was probably one of the worst things I’ve ever had to do in my young adult life. I keep telling myself that it’s over now and it doesn’t matter but like my goal was 700+ and I’d be lucky if I got a 600+ on Math 2. I’m not terrible at math but I felt so dumb taking that test and it’s over but I’m still scared to see my scores
i have a day off from school today and im gonna work on some model UN & college stuff today!!! so ready to be productive!
