Delaney Bailey – Just Come Down (Song)

I recently discovered Delaney Bailey on Apple Music Radio and have been completely blown away by her. Her music, lyrics, and voice are so incredibly beautiful to me. Love her and can’t wait to see where she goes from here.

I heard this particular song for the first time a few days ago and can’t stop listening to it even though it’s about a heterosexual relationship. (90+% of the music I listen to is Sapphic.)

The reason I’m sharing this specific song is because the second verse contains a sublime, wistful, and poignantly eloquent smoking metaphor. In this case it’s about cannabis, but it could just as easily be about smoking cigarettes with a partner. (She also writes about her boyfriend’s psilocybin mushroom use.)

Worth a listen if you happen to appreciate girly emo porn as much as I do, and/or if you have an interest in smoking.

(If you haven't already figured this out, I happen to have very eclectic tastes in music...)
