I hate Carmex.
forgot to post this from air's playthrough a while ago
actually I think the reason harry dubois’ failed sexuality crisis is so funny to me is because, on a scale of internalized homophobia it’s hard to define it as internalized homophobia per se, it’s just... complete and utter cluelessness... there’s not enough knowledge to even have any maliciousness, there’s not a single thought firing in that head of his... spends 8 hours thinking about the homosexual underground and the result of it is huh! I’m going to stop obsessing over my sexuality. net 0.
redraw w kim & harry & authority
I think a major theme of d!sco elysium is not separating the grotesque from the human, whether from a place of sympathy or condemnation
disco elysium seems really gay is it actually gay or
kim kitsuragi is canonically gay but you have to think about the homosexual underground for 8 in-game hours before he'll tell you "yes I'm gay". harry dubois has extremely obviously repressed same gender attraction, which isn't technically textual but if you talk to a guy with a certain je ne sais quoi (he's gay) the dialogue options are 'wow... his shirt is so unbuttoned...' or 'wow... he smells so nice...' or 'wow... he's such a good listener' or 'wow... he's so mysterious'. so I guess it could be technically stated it's subtext, but also... you have to have your eyes glued shut not to pick up the implications. but anyway I wouldn't recommend it if you're just looking for gay rep because that's a small part of what can be a very brutal story that also does have homophobia/racism/misogyny/etc. present and addressed.
see the thing about a fash harry playthrough of de is that I would just let him die. he’d say one racist thing and I’d be like you know what I’m letting the chair kill you.
