Overtraining Is Real: You Might Need a Deload Week
We all love to push our limits at the gym 💪
But is there such a thing as going too hard? 🤔
If you’ve been training like a beast for weeks without a single break, it might be time to consider a deload week 👇
https://www.gymaholic.co/articles/do-you-need-deload-weeks-how-and-when-to-implement-them
After training for a while you’re accumulating residual fatigue and it can prevent you from achieving your goals if you don’t do anything about it.
Enjoy this video where I explain why a deload week will help you progress faster.

Hey hey hey, here we go on another week! For a Monday, I’m surprisingly in a really good, refreshed mood. Probably because I’m feeling soooooo much better than I was last week (sick) so having energy again and being able to breathe normally is the best thing in the world!
We had a fertility appointment this afternoon that was summarized on my ttc blog here and then I got to eat in the hospital cafeteria with Kevin! Loved that we were able to maximize our time together today. It’s always such a special treat getting to see him in the middle of the day :)) And amazingly enough, the cafeteria salad kept me full all through the rest of the day! I didn’t even once snack on (or think about snacking on) the pumpkin seeds, keto cookie, or keto chow I brought with me! YES!
The sky tonight was incredible!!!! Check out these sunset photos I took at 4:36 p.m. (left) and 4:57 p.m. (right)! Crazy how photos can never do nature justice.
Tonight at the gym was squats and I didn’t fear or dread them!!! Granted, it’s “deload week” so everything was super easy which felt so weird and so wrong, like I was cheating. I still can’t believe how much I’m enjoying going to the gym three times a week for powerlifting. I still feel out of place and meek compared to everyone else there but I keep coming back so that’s gotta be a good sign!
Guys, I got the newest seasonal Halo Top flavor, “Gingerbread House” at the grocery store on Sunday! I have yet to try it although I expect in an hour I’ll be breaking into it. (I know, how can I be blogging about it without trying it first?! Bad Angie) I honestly don’t have high expectations about it though because the idea of eating gingerbread ice cream just doesn’t appeal to me but obviously I have to give it a shot. Also, I feel like I came by this flavor way too easily. After trying for literally months to get the Pumpkin Pie flavor and only finding it ONCE to now having a good five pints at the store of the new flavor on the first day I see it? Meh. All I know is my household is extremely upset that the Pumpkin Pie flavor is gone until next year (it better come back next year). Still waiting on any of the other new non-seasonal flavors to grace my grocery store... Okay, this blog post has enough Halo Top musings.
Hope everyone has a great week!!

so, I've kind of made this my deload week. I have not worked out once so far. After my last final on Thursday, I went home and slept. I woke up at 4 am today and went to work. After work, I ran some errands and ate dinner at 9:00 pm. I'm telling myself that all the stress from finals and this week means I deserve some sort of break. So it's currently 10:24 pm now, and I will not be exercising today. It's now my deload week. But I'm making this as a way to stay accountable so I make sure to continue to keep going!
