So Dennis due to his very sensitive nose can tell apart all members of his found family with how they smell
Jack Abbot: Apples, Sandalwood, Old Spice, Gasoline/Military. Dennis can also smell the soft smell of very pungent laundry detergent or mothballs. Jack is trying to hide the fact that he was in the military. Dennis picks it up immediately and that is how Dennis recognized Jack also the fact the mothballs and laundry detergent don't actually help at all
Dana evans: Coffee and fresh fallen rain that is with the undertone of cigarette smoke.
Trinity Santos: Hand sanitizer & Bath & Body Works scents cherry blossom and sweet pea this is ironic because she is not sweet she also smells like capsaicin. With the Bath and Body Works since you know that smell like the alcohol and the concoction that if you don't shake it out of the test strip it smells awful.
Dr. Robby: incense, beach (sea salt), coal and charcoal. No I will not explain to you why like charcoal and coal surrounds Robby.
Jesse: old parchment, burnt sugar, Ash and a faint smell of weed.
Melissa "mel" King: Raspberries and funky but really good Aged Cheese. Mel is a lovable weirdo not because she's possibly neurodivergent but just outside of that. I was trying to think of a very funky smell combination that wasn't like eerily similar to everyone else. I think she would enjoy a good funky taste and cheese.
Frank Landgon: Citrus, Bitter Cocoa, Cinnamon and a faint bit of something earthy because I Googled it and poppy flowers sometimes have an earthy scent and opium poppies are made for pain medication. The earthy smell did disappear when our boy was at rehab because the pain medication was taken even though I know for a fact it isn't the same pain medication made from poppies.
Yeah most the time when everyone's at the hospital and heavy into their shifts sharp just infected covers their natural sense and Dennis hates it don't even like the good smelling disinfectant it's like sharp will burn your nostril hair out.
