1: which episode originally got you hooked? which episode did you start to realize things were going completely fucking pear shaped

So, the episode that got me hooked was Giant Woman - I had seen Gem Glow before, but Giant Woman came out and absolutely wowed me and I really enjoyed the music, the art, the characters, so I went back and watched everything else as soon as I saw it. It was gr8!

The episode that made me realize everything was going to fuck was Back to the Barn. It was and still is my least favorite episode and it is the episode that made me hate Peridot forever. How the fuck are they going to introduce Peridot as a full on gem-racist and have her CLAIM Pearl as her slave AND insult her abilities while no one, not Steven, not Garnet and Amethyst, does anything? And then to have Peridot WIN the fight against Pearl, a fight that was ultimately a representation of Pearl’s ability and her refuting the restrictions placed on her because she’s a Pearl?

AND THEN THAT “SHE’S NOT LIKE OTHER PEARLS” BULLSHIT

honestly that whole episode was fucking awful and i knew at that point the show was beyond real hope

2: what's your absolute favorite and least favorite episode?

Absolutely Favorite: hmm...On the Run or Jailbreak, probably, because they heavily showcased some of my favorites (Amethyst and Garnet) and I actually had so much love for Jasper in those days and wanted to see her be a great antagonist 

Already said Back to the Barn, but Gem Harvest gets an honorable mention for being fucked up and racist in the worst way, and all the many many episodes where Pearl abuses Steven or Connie and gets away with it, those too.

3: who's your favorite and least favorite character?

Favorite: Amethyst and Garnet are tied

Least Favorite: Blue Diamond and Lars are tied

4: which ship do you dislike the most?

All of the Gem/Human ships besides PearlGreg, but actually I think my least favorite ship is the brief lived time of Steven/Peridot

5: is there a joke or piece of dialogue that really upset you?

“SHE’S NOT LIKE OTHER PEARLS”

“lapis is TRIGGERED by water”

“Bismuth wanted to shatter gems” are all equally fucking shitty fuck that bullshit

6: what's your least favorite design? what would you change about it?

Least favorite design.........honestly I really hate the entire art style, but Steven’s is the one I hate the most. The gems all have something going for their design, even if they aren’t all equally interesting, but Steven has worn the same outfit for 4 seasons, and to me, outfit changes can be really useful to demonstrate growth and development, so I’d love to see Steven adopt a new look

For one thing make him taller, because he’s FOURTEEN and looks like an eight year old, I’d give him some slightly ripped or patched jeans to show all the trouble Steven gets into and all the danger that’s probably trashed his clothes. Close-toed shoes, because he really shouldn’t be fighting in flip flops, and i’d change his color scheme! Steven’s colors should be experimental - i feel like Steven ought to be wearing all kinds of different colored star shirts, and also be wearing some other shirts too. There’s no way he doesn’t get at least a litle curious about what other kids wear, and I think I’d give him a jacket?

7: what's your least favorite theory or fanon

Tied are the: Rose is Pink Diamond and Lapis is part of a Blue Diamond Fusion theories, both of which are absolute trash and the latter of which is the most annoyingly persistent thing on the face of the earth. 

bonus: what would you tell the writers room

“GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER! WHY DON’T YOU TALK TO EACH OTHER AND MAKE A COHERENT PLOT, I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS SHOW HAS BIGGER PLOTHOLES THAN TEEN TITANS GO RIGHT NOW”
