I absolutely love this little mare! There, I said it - I love a chestnut arab mare 😂🙈 . Little Taz had a flatwork session today, and I know I say this every ride, but she went better than she ever has. 😍🙏 She's really starting to lock onto me in her work - still aware of her surroundings, but listening to me rather than worrying about everything else so much. . Transitions are getting sharper and smoother, brakes are great, steering's getting better, and she's actually fantastic off my leg laterally. This means that I can help her more effectively coming around corners and on a large circle. Starting to get moments of softness from her here and there, and getting her to relax down in the poll and stretch in the base of her neck, too. . Lots of progress from this sweet girl this week! Looking forward to solidifying her flatwork over the next couple of weeks and then adding in some poles and a few other fun bits and pieces. She's genuinely so much fun to do anything with, I can only imagine how great she'll be once she's fit, strong, and with a few more miles on the clock! 😍 .
