Father and Daughter at the Carousel.
"Thank goodness I am wearing boots, or else I'd be losing a foot along with my missing arm with how much your feet are aiming to stomp at mine!"
Ares teaching Harmonia how to dance.
Ares had to learn how to dance quite thoroughly in his youth, with both war and celebrations in the intention, so she would've been a great teacher for Harmonia and his other children.
Also, I have decided to nickname Ares "Daddy Longlegs".
At this point, they've been with each other for quite a while, by the way.
I like to think that Hermes set up the race and everything.
Fun factoid; My design for Ares is inspired by Corneliu Baba's Mad Kings series.
Desire For Peace Ares redesign
He now has a prosthetic arm that works perfectly like a healthy organic arm, and he will never be shown with it off or doing something without it because writing people with disabilities is hard.
Also, his beard and body hair are gone.
Ares and his little boat (that I had a difficult time drawing).
People are always talking about a rivalry between Poseidon and Athena based on the myth where Athena became the patron deity of Athens instead of Poseidon, meanwhile, I've seen Poseidon and Ares in the same courtroom twice now, and one of those instances has an alternative version where Poseidon took Ares to court for no reason since his son accidentally dropped an axe on himself, Ares completely uninvolved.
Anyway, it is now canon to Desire for Peace that whenever Ares and Poseidon are in the same room as each other, intense court drama music starts playing and everyone around them has to hope that neither of them does or says anything that pisses off the other. No one knows where the music comes from. They've tried to find the source, but they can't find it.
