"I've heard about you from Stelle... but I don't think we've properly met."
@dhabibi. / dr. ratio &. yaoshi.
Life is understood to persist in all sorts of different ways. Yaoshi knows that well, understanding that life is understood and understands differently than people do. That Yaoshi’s life that it can grant persists, and functions, and survives despite all attempts otherwise. That communication is possible with enough attempts.
The Simulated Universe interests Yaoshi due to the fact that it is distant, merely a whistle through the trees, and touches Yaoshi through the distant calls of its most extended touch. The hand of the Simulated Universe gets close enough to feel Yaoshi, close enough to predict Yaoshi’s responses, far enough to never let Yaoshi touch.
…What?
Yaoshi yearns to understand, but knows it’s futile. After all, Yaoshi has spent millennia of its life giving gifts, only to be met with scorn. The weeds respond to fire, but the soil welcomes it when it’s dust. And like all life, Yaoshi will return, unbidden.
So curious. And for what, then? Who are you, in the dark? I will help you. You need only but ask, and I will aid you in your journey. I will not let you fall, stranger in the dark. Show your face to me.
✿ tighnari and alhaitham. (i need them)
SEND “ ✿ ” FOR 2 HEADCANONS FOR OUR MUSES’ RELATIONSHIP
ONE. Tighnari is not a coffee drinker (downsides of not dating Kaveh, I'm afraid) but he likes teas. And (in the early days) over time he will offer various teas to Alhaitham whenever they spend time together - to see if he likes it at all, if there's any particular tea he likes best, if he likes the (calming, waking, focus) effects they have on him (if this feels like an experiment, no it doesn't). If Alhaitham can't be convinced to enjoy tea, Tighnari will offer fresh fruit juice and smoothies. There's always too much juice for just one person from all the fruit he wants to use, so it would be nice to share.
TWO. Some days it feels like Alhaitham can't be separated from his books but that's okay. Tighnari knows what it's like to get lost in a project. He does sometimes miss the chance to talk more or spend quality time together because of it, but chooses not to disturb Alhaitham's studies. He does, however, start pressing flowers between the pages of Alhaitham's books (in the mornings, when he still sleeps, or when he's out at work) so that after every few chapters he'll at least think of him for a moment 🌺
@dhabibi said: It's Xilonen, but she’s affectionately resting her elbow on Kinich's head.
There's only a HINT of mild disdain evident from the golden-emerald hues, as if the owner was simply accustomed to such a gesture from the blacksmith. It's the same old song-and-dance between the pair, seeing as they're both a familiar face among the other's tribe and their arrangements have held ground for many months by now.
"Is there something you need of me, Xilonen?"
@dhabibi. Veritas for Kaveh.
"The structural integrety of your design is almost flawless. Almost, since your material of choice is prone to deterioration in this climate. Why not substitute it for something more durable?" Veritas holds respect for the architect's craft, but he won't hesitate to point out issues where he finds them. If there are logistic considerations underlying this choice of material, he would like to hear them.
@dhabibi sent: The door opens, then closes. "Alhaitham? Are you home?" Kaveh can be heard stirring in the hallway, the familiar sound of shuffling feet and swinging bags announcing his sudden arrival.
It's Sunday. The shopping day.
Usually, Kaveh takes this day to reset from the stressors of his week, indulging in buying good food and wine. "I bought some things for dinner!" He announces, already in the kitchen, moving pots and pans. "So, if you want any of it, then you better get in here and cut some vegetables!"
"You do know how to cut vegetables, don't you?" It's not unlike him to consider his roommate in purchases like this. A leg of lamb, a bag of rice, and various high-end spices. What is Kaveh up to?
He is at home and for once he hears Kaveh returning because he's not wearing his headphones, having felt no need for them in the quiet solitude of their home. Alhaitham doesn't call back a response, just stays on the sofa with his book, but his attention moves from the lines on the pages to the sound of Kaveh's shuffling footsteps moving from the entrance to the kitchen. His key is by the door, as are his boots - if Kaveh just uses his eyes, he'll be able to deduce the answer to his question.
Either Kaveh was faster than normally with the groceries or Alhaitham has lost track of time while reading, because it feels earlier than usual for dinner preparations. Not that he's mad about it, he was debating getting a snack not too long ago anyway. Still semi-distracted by the noises now coming from the kitchen he finishes the page he's on and then places his bookmark between the pages and closes the book. It's a nice book with a convenient size and pleasantly thin pages. The content is - so far - not as helpful as anticipated but still worth reading.
Peeling himself off the couch, Alhaitham heads for the kitchen, following the sounds of pots and pans. "I know how to cut vegetables," he say by way of greeting, although the question makes him recall an incident of cooking together in which Kaveh complained about his unevenly shaped carrots. "Unless you have arbitrary aesthetic expectations for them."
With some interest he regards the groceries Kaveh brought home, his face lighting up a bit when he spots the lamb meat. "Lamb? Good choice," he comments, moving to fetch a cutting board and his knife, so he can cut whatever Kaveh is about to throw his way. "Was it on sale?"
@dhabibi replied ; Ratio said his library is available, just clean up after yourself and don't touch the busts...
ㅤㅤㅤAh, Dr. Ratio .. ❛ I'm thankful for your offer, however this is something I must figure out first, else I'm afraid your bust statues might be next... ❜ No, just thinking about having to cover up for a certain someone is enough to make him immediately decline the offer. If his books are going to be dropped to the floor, then at least it'll be his and not someone else's
ㅤ/ @dhabibi and a.naxa are working together
ㅤㅤㅤDespite his interests not particularly relying on architecture, he finds himself standing behind Kaveh and peeking over his back to observe his meticulous work. With rulers scattered across the blonde's desk, he can't help but feel a sense of familiarity with the concept of precision and correct measurements, something that never failed to be alluring in his eyes. It is only after 2 minutes that he realizes this familiarity isn't only in spirit, but is manifested in something much more tangible―
❛ Is that my ruler? No, correction. That is my ruler. ❜ Why is it that each time he drops by, something is missing from his desk? Pfft. By the time this man finishes his work, he'll be left with nothing but a pencil.
