It takes 21 days to change a habit. 21 days. Hmmmm...that’s really not that long. I always thought it was 6 weeks but I like the 21 days better. Perhaps telling myself, “Just 21 days...remember it takes 21 days...” It will give me patience with myself when I mess up or don’t have a “perfect” day. Though nothing is ever perfect, is it? Kinda like a Jump Start into the new and improved me--taking care of my health. Mentally. Physically. Spiritually.

Hmmmmm...this is how I kicked my soda habit. Soda free for 7 years. I can’t believe I didn’t practice this with other food items.
Diet Notes...
1. Overeating is a habit. And like any habit, it can be conquered, if you have the will and drive to get started.
2. Proceed with your weight loss one meal at a time, one day at a time, one week at a time. Taking one step at a time, strengthening yourself slowly, you can not fail.
3. Learn to delay gratification. The next time you begin to bite into a candy bar, order a fattening dessert from a restaurant menu, walk into the bakery for a Danish pastry, stop and ask yourself: “Would I rather have this or a slim young figure?”
4. No crash dieting. Because you must learn new habits of eating, it is useless for you to go on a “crash” or “fad” diet or to take diet pills or appetite depressants of any kind. “Why learn to use a crutch when you can learn how to walk properly?”
5. Control your environment. Don’t surround yourself with temptation by buying cookies and candies.
6. Learn to laugh. We are constantly playing games with ourselves and in serious denial about why we are heavy and/or not losing weight.
7. No alcohol. No skipping meals. No counting calories.
8. No excuses. You can stick to your healthy diet and successfully lose weight no matter what your home, social, business, or school life may be.
9. Stick to your diet plan and the plan will work.
10. Maintenance is important. Once you lose the weight, follow the maintenance plan so you learn to keep the weight off.
11. To be successful on the program, will require your desperation, your sincerity and your cooperation and your patience!!
Dandy Rats, August 2017 Feed: Pets At Home rat nuggets (20% of diet), Fresh fruit and veg (60% of diet). They are not allowed human food or treats under any circumstances. Bedding: PAH Back2Nature litter and beech chips. Consequences and alterations: Beech chips were being used temporarily for the poop tray at the bottom of the cage but has since returned to their usual bedding. No consequences - beech chips are a safe bedding for rats just not very good for odour control. Now 1 year old, they will not be getting extra protein in their diet besides that already provided in their nuggets. Peanuts are only used as occasional training treats. This is to hopefully prevent kidney failure as they age. Current health: Age: 14 months. Very healthy, soft coats, generally good condition and not overweight. Kit is still quite a lean type and neither are large rats. Kaboodle is more prone to weight gain and her hair has become ever so slightly coarser with age, as is normal in rats with white-marked coats. She has suffered with Myco mostly during the winter and when the room has been closed off to the cold, but has not had any flare ups this summer while the window has been open 24/7. Kit has had a very minor snuffle once in the time I’ve had her and there is a hint of clicking in her breathing but still seems highly resistant to Myco and has not had a true flare up. They are both still active, curious and healthy. No signs of lumps or tumours as of yet.
I was not expecting to be consuming way too FEW calories but I definitely am It doesn’t help that I went on this diet right as I went back on ADD meds, which make me lose my appetite It’s less than three hundred so far today which is Not Great
Diet diary: I vastly underestimated how much of the nutrients from eggs come from the yolk. Apparently a serving of egg white scramble is eight fucking egg whites. We're gonna need more eggs Also I think I'm allergic to egg whites
