It took every ounce of self control that Light had to not immediately snap at the detective. Instead, he glanced up at him from his laptop, not bothering to mask his lack of amusement with the situation.

“What’s that supposed to mean, Ryuzaki? I look no different than I do any other day. Your statement is completely unfounded and pointless,” he replied, a soft frown curving his lips as he returned his gaze to his computer screen. Not having much to do case-wise, Light had been entertaining himself e-Books.

Dominic had a run in with his father, to make it worse it was about Adira. He was pissed at his father for what he had done and tried to confront him only to be shut down and told that he needed to go back to being the “old” him. His father was right. He had changed. Adira had changed him and Dominic had no clue if it was a good thing or not. He hummed in response to her question just continuing to bury his face in between her shoulder and neck. He had never acted this vulnerable. “Just hold me.” He mumbled softly breathing gently against her skin.

Dominic breathed out feeling aggravated. “You heard me.” He was always good at toying with people, playing with their emotions. Stringing them along until he was bored. For him, that was a game. A game he was extremely well rehearsed at. Yet, this game for him seemed too much. His routine was to kill, play with, torture... not... this. Not... cower away from the blood shed. “I mean exactly what I said.” He replied bluntly.”I can’t be around you anymore.”

At first Mello hummed and relaxed under Matt’s touch, enjoying how his callused fingers felt sliding around his shoulder. However after a moment he realized that his fingers were tracing up Mello’s neck, inching towards his face, in a very familiar outline. Mello grabbed Matt’s wrist and shot him a glare. “What are you doing?”

Ambrose couldn’t concentrate for the rest of the day. He shouldn’t have asked Nate what he did. As soon as he asked he regretted it. He couldn’t drive in the state that he was in. He hands were too shaky. He couldn’t even focus on his work. He had to pull himself away from everyone, the anxiety hit him like a tonne of bricks. Yet this time, he couldn’t call Nate for help on calming down. He was huddled on the bathroom floor in fits for at least an hour before he finally got up and left to finish his work. By that point everyone else was packing up. He told them that he was just tired despite his blood shot eyes evidence of past tears. They didn’t question it though. After they had left he stuck his head down and tried to forget everything. Sketching away some of the sketches ending up being of things to do with stuff that weren’t work related. By the time it had hit 1am he finally packed up and got into his car. He sat there for a good thirty minutes contemplating whether it was okay to go home yet. His heart pummeled against his chest harshly as he gripped his steering wheel.  His eyes began to water once more as he drove back home. He fought them back as much as possible knowing it wasn’t all that safe to be driving with blurry eyes. He finally parked up and grabbed his stuff from the boot before heading indoors quietly. After locking the door behind him - a habit he had got into - he placed his equipment down in the living room before grabbing a blanket from the chair. The thought of Nate not wanting to see him broke his heart. But, all he could think about was how he had himself to blame. He sat on the couch staring at the black screen of the TV in front of him. He wasn’t going to sleep anytime soon, he knew that. But that didn’t stop him from huddling into the blanket trying to stop himself from shaking from his nerves.
