He’s frustrated and listless in his life, meets her through circumstance and out the blue, after/at a party, falls hard for her immediately—and the feeling is mutual—but she just as quickly swims/runs off, leaving him lovestruck and obsessed with finding her but not knowing who in the heck she is or where she came from, so he only has certain signature features to go on: her singing voice/her glove and silver gown. He reunites with her later but has no idea it's her—this woman has no voice/this woman is a maid—and a two-person love triangle ensues, because he altruistically takes her into his home and falls in love with this woman, “too”! What a conundrum. For both, because the situation has her all kinds of frustrated. He's given advice by an elder—
“...far better than any dream girl, is one of flesh and blood, one warm and caring and right before your eyes.”
“...don't be held back by what you think should be. Think only of what is.”
“...reality is where love grows. Reality feeds your heart. It is all very well to dream, but…you can only chase the imagined.”
—and right when he decides to pursue things with her, choosing reality over waiting for elusive "fantasy", the villainess with a vendetta against her pops back up and some mess happens because there's still an act of story left. Gotta earn that happily ever after.
Also, both women physically saved their respective men, but at different points in the arcs; both couples are from different/opposite "worlds" so this is their main obstacle; and both have a water theme. 🌊
