New zine just dropped, and its as cheap as 1.31 CAD. If anyone can I would appreciate some sales as my bank account is over 100 in overdraft because I ended up harassed on monday by a group of boys and had to use an uber I could not afford to my aunts for safety and another one home bc my phone had almost no charge and after that incident I was too scared to go anywhere with it dead 😭 my phone bill is due soon too. This zine is a part of a bundle I have heavily discounted. Please share if you cannot buy!
Look at my bracelet! Cool, right? I customized it out of stuff I already owned! Wanna make your own??
How I Personalized My Spiked Bracelet for Free ✂️ A Tutorial
Materials used:
- spiked bracelet! Mines was a gift, but you can make one, or buy one :) no stress, this tut is meant to be mostly free/accessible but you may have to make one or two purchases if your life is very different from mine.
- plastic beaded necklace long enough to do the job (make sure it fits over your spikes While The Bracelet Is Closed)! I think I found this on the ground or while helping a loved one clean their car
- pencil for indenting the (faux) leather, the pencil was a gift also but any pen or pencil will do I'm not personally opposed to real leather, especially upcycled leather!!, but this is what I have.
- needle for punching the holes needed to sew the necklace into place. Had my needles for years. Pretty sure they were from the dollar store or found on the ground. You can find just about anything on the ground if you look hard enough, I've found a yarn needle before-- and that's a niche piece of plastic! Just clean it first if you can manage for your own safety.
-thread. No clue where I got it, probably the dollar store or a friend lol I used a similar color so it would blend in with the silver colored plastic spikes and beads.
-box cutter. (Gift from a friend)To cut the thread. I couldn't find my scissors ✂️ those are just as fine. Also helps in pushing the needle through the material if you tap it lightly on the needle like a hammer! (Be careful, it's a tedious, mildly dangerous process if you're not conscious about your safety :( needle Can and Will go Through your body I've done it before, she doesn't care. Poke you good.)
-grey nail polish pictured purely bc I was taking a picture of my day lol from the dollar store, unnecessary, but I like it :)
Details!
I made two holes to sew through in between each spike, laid the necklace over the area and twisted once to get that criss-cross diamond shape, and I just ran my needle through the holes I made and secured each section. (you can see in the last photo, it's a bit blurry) I also secured the last hanging bit of beaded necklace with a little more thread and wasn't able to get that last criss-cross to fit well, so I compromised with just bringing the two beads closest to the center together, and done! Cool new bracelet with a little extra flavor! Enjoy!
For clothes and accessories , I go to Goodwill, Salvation Army, Mercari, Ross, swap meets, SOMETIMES hot topic, NEWBREEDGIRL, and Spencer’s
I always check the children’s shirts, women’s clothing, and men’s shirts (Tip: check through racks throughly while listening to music to pass the time LOLZ)!!
Examplez:
I also DIY a lot of my clothing aswell which I’ll be posting soon. I use acrylic paint mixed with fabric softener to paint shirts and tailor them depending on if I want it loose or not :D I even add studs that I got from Amazon to bling out some pieces!
