I’m DMing tonight~ my players have been doing SUCH a great job getting through the first 2 sessions, I’m honestly SO proud of how it’s gone, and they’ve really been taking the plot hooks and going with the roleplay.
It’s gone a bit longer than I expected it to, so I gave everybody the choice to wrap it up real quick or to do a half-session today, and there was pretty much a unanimous agreement! I’m so proud that my story is compelling enough that everyone is willing to give up another 2 hours of their weekends.
I cannot overstate how thrilled I am with all my players’ character development and roleplay, and I can’t WAIT to see how they round out the session--I still have a couple surprises for them :3 I’ve worked really hard on this oneshot (now 2.5-shot), so I’m just ecstatic that it’s gone so well. It really makes me proud to be a DM.
Our normal DM got to play as a character, which has just been excellent! She’s had some fun interactions with the rest of the party, and I’m interested in seeing her character as she goes on :D she’s a really fun character to play with. I wish pizza bard could be there to meet her, but I feel pretty strongly against DMPCs. I know myself well enough to know I’d focus too much on my own character, so he’s elsewhere for this session. (Or Is He). (yeah he is).
I’ll probably write up the session’s highlights later, if anyone cares to see it, but right now I’m just so proud of the players and how they’ve embraced this little one-off as a chance to further express themselves and develop their characters. This session is canon but not integral to the plot, so the characters are what it’s really about. I just needed to vent(?) a bit about how pleased I am :) My Friends Are Great And I Am So Happy
