So there’s this comic I read as a kid called Dolltopia (by abby denson) that I recently resurfaced and I only remembered the cutout paper dolls scattered throughout the book but rereading it now it is actually the wokest thing ever and it probably is 100% the reason I am the way I am today so I thought I’d share it here.
The doll forced into the housewife role gets sick of it and leaves?
Dolls getting to choose whatever self expression they want??
Doll lesbians???
This thing???? And also platonic man doll woman doll relationship?????
Nonbinary ass doll doctor???
Definitely a bowie reference
Catboy femboy doll and disfigured doll with half a woman doll’s face??
Vinyl outfits?? For some reason?
Kill me now!
Spudette.
Disabled doll-head made to love her insecurities in a loving definitely queer relationship
So yeah I read this comic when I was say 9 years old and I’m so glad for that !!
Also I’ve done some research on abby denson and I may fall down a rabbit hole about her works and collaborations soon she’s just so awesome (I’ll do anything but my graphics work)
Just read a comic called Dolltopia by Abby Denson about renegade fashion dolls living in their own world away from humans, free to be themselves and not conform to how the factory made them and how humans play with them, and it was pretty good.
There's hardly any books or comics (or any fiction really about/related to dolls but it's about fashion dolls and not porcelain doll, so this was nice to find.
