Star Trek Story Idea/Prompt: Doom!Trek
Who: Leonard "Bones" McCoy (John Grimm), James T. Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Sulu, Chekov, Scotty, + any other characters you choose
Type: hurt/comfort, Whumpage, action, family/friends,
The idea: A 6-ish + 1 type thing 🤔
This is a Reaper! Bones idea where everyone from the bridge crew experiences or discovers that Bones is John Grimm. everyone gets to see Reaper in action as he saves the day.
Out of Hell that breaks loose, Hope springs and it comes back, again, again, and again with no sign of dying.
A Grimm Reminder (Reaper!Bones one-shot)
(sorry, I was hit with inspiration for the wrong story.) Something like a prologue, maybe, for A Reaper in the Stars? Tags for the day: @captainleonardmccoy @littlecrazyfangirl-98 @bunnygeneral It’s your fault I’ve even started thinking about this concept anyway.
He really should stop trying. His captain never listened to him, and he put himself - and others - in danger on too many occasions because of that. At least this time he had his god damn doctor walking with the away team, although under Klingon guard. As if that had gone well last time.
Spock was a little beaten for talking back. Serves that logic of his right. The thought left him as quickly as it came. Christ, he was annoyed at how this whole day was going.
“Spock,” he whispered, “how are you holding up?”
“Adequately, doctor.” He sighed. “It would be preferable to keep quiet before they decide to gang up on you as well.”
I'm working on a bit of Reaper!Bones and I can't make a decision. Sooooo poll time!
Does Bones (John Grimm) have scars?
Yes! It adds character and makes a great conversation piece.
No! He's supposed to be a fast healer so scars are weird.
On the fence. Maybe just the scars he got being Reaper?
Two Sides, One Reaper
Prompt #1 (Prompt List)
Word Count: 925
I haven't posted in quite some time so I figured I would look through my finished one-shot and give ya'll a little something-something. I made a bunch of prompts a while back and figured I would use a couple of them.
Jim knew Bones had done this whole thing many, many times before. Years, decades, and even further. Death and Bones were two different sides of the same coin. Jim snorted darkly and shook his head, if death were a sentient being -- Jim doesn’t dare dismiss the possibility-- it and McCoy would be on a first-name basis by now.
McCoy. It was an old name Jim knew. He knew that his best friend still held on to some sentiments. Names, places, certain objects he locked away in a safe in his quarters. Kirk stared at his bloody hands with a scowl forming on his face.
McCoy was the maiden name of his mother. A woman who had lived a good century ago, who died in a terrible terrible accident when Bones was a kid. He witnessed it with his twin sister. Looking up he stared hard at his friends still form before looking at the antique watch that same friend gifted him after he became Captain of the Enterprise.
He still had some time before his CMO woke up. The wound would have been fatal to anyone else but this was Bones. Leonard McCoy or lesser-known as John Grimm. Kirk chewed on the inside of his cheek his gaze moving to his watch over to the oddly flustered, confused, and agitated Vulcan who was pacing the room.
“Spock, give him more time. After that, we can get the hell out of here.”
Spock stopped in his tracks and stared at him with cool and calculating eyes. “Captain, the doctor is dead, no known being can sustain that kind of injury,” he spoke slowly and calmly as if Jim was in shock or had a screw loose but Kirk simply smiled and patted the dirt beside him.
“Trust Bones Spock,” he whispered putting every ounce of faith he had left in his voice. Spock did as he was ordered and sat next to his Captain. They faced where the doctor lay motionless, his chest still and his eyes closed. If Spock were illogical he could imagine that the man -- his friend was just sleeping.
His mind went to all of the times he had witnessed the doctor conquer death. How he only barely manages to scrape by with mere bruises and cuts. Ones that until now Spock had assumed were healed by modern medicine. But the feats that he had just seen were impossible. The strength, speed, intelligence, and bleeding cuts that disappeared in seconds.
Jim told him a story of myths and legends and it clearly wasn’t the whole thing. He cut himself off with a sheepish smile and had muttered, “Bones will talk about it with you after we get out of here,” Spock wasn’t convinced that the doctor was alive but he followed orders and waited.
“One cannot cheat death forever Jim,” he said finally after a lengthy silence. Jim chuckled letting his head fall back against the stone wall they were leaning against. The sun was beginning to set and the colorful rays glinted off his eyes. The smile was rueful and full of hope and promises.
“He can. I’m pretty sure Bones scares the shit out of death…”
The Vulcan furrowed his brow and cocked his head to the side, “A metaphor sir?”
Jim’s laugh grew enough to become a snort, “ Something like that. He’s done this song and dance before.”
Spock’s eyebrow rose at the phrase and Kirk grinned. The first officer opened his mouth to one more time try and convince his captain and friend that the doctor was dead but a low groan made both men snap their heads in the CMO’s direction.
“Jesus fucking christ,”
“Jesus had nothing to do with it Bones,”
The resounding snort and muttered curses were the only response Jim received in return. “Ugh, I feel like I chewed on a bunch of pennies,” McCoy grumbled as he slowly sat up.
Kirk screwed up his face, “Pennies?” he asked but Leonard waved a dismissive hand. “Guess that’s what I get for eating a bullet. At least they didn’t aim higher…”
McCoy cracked his neck and back and rolled to his knees so he could get a better look at what was around him. His eyes landed on Spock who was frozen with his mouth slightly ajar. “Ah well fuck, hey Spock,”
“Doctor…”
McCoy grimaced getting to his feet. “It’s a long, long story Spock I promise to tell it to you once we get off this planet and I have a stiff drink in my hand.”
Kirk scoffed pulling out his phaser and turning it to its strongest setting, “Bones you can’t get drunk,”
McCoy shrugged, “No but a whole bottle of Romulan ale can get me buzzed enough to get through this oncoming conversation.” he said with a sniff. Jim grinned firing his phaser at the ground where McCoy once rested setting fire to the grass and the blood underneath it.
Spock slowly got to his feet, he didn’t take his eyes off of McCoy for a moment. His mind -- for the first time in his life -- was at a standstill.
“You’re gonna need a new uniform...again,” Jim muttered switching out his phaser for his communicator. Leonard looked down at his blood-drenched self and rolled his eyes.
“God fucking damnit,”
Both the doctor and the Captain ignored the fact that the Vulcan first officer was for the first time utterly speechless.
“Scotty energize!”
“Damnit, Jim! I look like I just popped out of Carrie!”
“Oh, good movie. The book was better though.”

Spock
Word Count: 580
Here's another one! This is about how Spock feels and thinks about when he first finds out that Bones is Reaper. I think it's a little word vomit-y but it works. I hope you all like it! No Beta so typos!
- H ❤🖖
Spock was a very logical man and prided himself -- as much as a Vulcan could -- in keeping his emotions in check. One plus one was obviously two so the Terran saying goes and the Enterprise has made it exceedingly difficult keeping that perspective. So when it was revealed that Doctor Leonard McCoy, “Bones” as the Captain affectionately calls him was not who they all thought something just snapped.
He felt multiple emotions coursing through him. Hurt, anger, betrayal, and once he focused on the pained, destroyed look on McCoy’s --Grimm’s -- face, he felt pity. The one who he called friend looked as if the world that he had carefully created, shattered into millions of pieces. Like waking up from a dream into the worst possible nightmare.
The man who wore Doctor McCoy as a mask showed himself, shoving his emotions down into a pit. The action surprised Spock greatly and couldn’t help but admire it and be saddened by it.
Watching the away team -- his friends -- run and fight their way through Genesis made Spock feel a form of anxiety he hadn’t felt since he was a child. His hands were tight on the armrests of the Captain’s chair, a PADD of notes and research resting on his knee almost entirely forgotten. Lt. Uhura left her station and stood at his side with a visible expression of worry and sadness on her face, she bit her lip and wrung her hands, her eyes never leaving the front screen.
The entire bridge was tense and quiet. An unusual and now after spending so much time with Jim and Mc-- Spock took a small breath -- it was uncomfortable, to say the least.
Seeing the party huddled over a terminal, safe for the moment, Spock hazard a look down at his PADD. The notes he made were neat, precise, and completely unnecessary. It would be said by the ship’s CMO that he was trying to work out an emotional crisis by making lists and notes. Trying to put them into a perspective he was comfortable with.
Leonard “Bones” McCoy → Johnathan Grimm
Lt. Com/CMO of Enterprise → Immortal Man infected with a compound known as “C-24”
Doctor → Soldier
Mask → Truth
Friend → ?
Spock stared at his note his mind running a mile a minute as he thought back. McCoy healing the crew, gruff and emotional. McCoy talking to him, helping him, being his friend. His eyes were honest and kind as they always were. Now that he sees the whole truth Spock could recall the well-hidden sadness and guilt.
Looking back up at the screen after 10.3 seconds had passed to see every monitor in the lab they had taken refuge in show images. All of McCoy but not. He was different in every picture and it only took Spock a single second to realize that these images were of his previous lives. A teacher, a farmer, a soldier, an officer, always helping, always compassionate.
Spock tapped at his PADD deleting a couple of lines in earnest.
Friend → Friend
More Research is required.
He will help his friend in any way he possibly can. Looking over at Nyota he saw that she was watching him with a soft expression contrasted by a flash of steely determination.
“Lieutenant, See what you can do to get around that jamming frequency. We must be able to contact to our away team.”
Uhura flashed him a quick smile and nodded, “Yes Sir,”

Star Trek Prompt/Idea:
Type: Doom!Trek AU, friendship, hurt/comfort, blood, gore, family dynamics
Who: Leonard "Bones" McCoy AKA John "Reaper" Grimm, James T. Kirk, Spock, Kahn (As the Villain)
The Prompt/Idea: I think a brawl between Bones(Reaper) and Kahn would be epic to see(read)! I've only seen one fic where they go up against each other but I'm greedy and need more.
The idea is this...
After Jim has been out of the hospital for a few days he and Spock go to a briefing about what's about to happen with Kahn and his crew. This is when the unthinkable happens. Kahn breaks free and manages to get six of his crew up. There is only one other admiral other than Pike is aware of who Bones really is (I'll leave that up to you) and has no choice but to call him in. This is when Jim and Spock find out who and what their friend really is. The details are up to you and your imagination but they have to watch as Bones turns into Reaper and takes down seven superhumans.
Use the lines:
"You've hidden yourself well. I'm impressed."
And
"Bones?"
"I'm sorry Jim...Spock. I'll tell ya the story when I'm not being shot at!"
What do you think? Would you write it?
