Day 11: Favorite KG2 Mission

I just really love this mission. It's one of the rare missions we don't k!ll or hurt anyone severely, which is nice. And I mean, it's the Cindix mission! We match them up! How can I not love this mission? Cindix will rise again.

But it's really just a fun mission for me and sometimes we need silly ones.

But yeah I was hugely into Kindergarten back in 2020 and was super obsessed over Dr. Danner and shipping him with the male principal from the first game (I remember calling him Mr. Principal and the ship name was Dr. Principal lolz)

It's been a good long history, but eventually I've lost interest in it at some point. I still think the adult characters rock though. Nevermind that they're willing to kill children, lol

Unfortunately I've yet to catch up with Kindergarten 3, but hopefully I can when I get the motivation to. All I know is that there are more content of the adult characters and duuuuddeeee 2020 me would have been busting my ass right about now

Overthinking about Penny’s mother yet again.

I’ve talked before about her, specifically about her relationship with Penny. But now I want to talk about her character overall and how she differs from the other evil principals. Even Principal David, who differs from all the other principals just because he’s not evil.

Yet again, Penny’s mother differs so much from the others due to her facade of being a caring person and pretending that she cares about the children. I talked about it with @pommheck who said she intentionally chooses a “soft” option when dealing with them. This is shown as she chooses to stop Ms. Applegate hitting Cindy and gets Kid to meet with her during lunch so she can gain trust. She chooses to do this in order to get the children to trust her.

Both @pommheck and other people I’ve spoke to about it, say for them it makes Penny’s mother the scariest and most threatening out of all of them. She does it all with a smile on her face. Jerome’s dad is cold and constantly monitoring everyone to make sure no one discovers the truth. Regis is again a little more obvious as he’s never not irritated (including straight up punting a massive Corvid with his hands through a window as pointed out by @gaslighting69) monitoring Mr. Scippio. And definitely David to some extent as the call David makes cuts out abruptly, heavily suggests Regis managed to stop David. (I’ll make a post about Regis and David eventually, I swear it) But Penny’s mother uses her own child to keep control over others and smiles near constantly.

I think there’s only three times where she isn’t smiling. Where Margaret comes into her office during lunch to tell her there’s a food fight; probably because not only is it disrupting her control over the school but it’s disrupted her being able to gain kid’s trust. When she sees Ms. Applegate hitting Cindy and stops it; again probably because it was stopping her control over the school. Finally during Creature Feature when you pick her up with the claw and drop her into the goo; most likely out of shock as she’s lost control and her plans have been ruined. Not only that but it happens at the eleventh hour and everything comes crashing down around her. Penny rebels, so she lost Penny. Then she loses the children she mutated and she’s left vulnerable and dropped into the goo.

Not only that but her smile seems genuine on several levels. She’s not overly gleeful, nor is she like Jerome’s dad and Regis who are cold and irritated. She seems content knowing what she’s doing as even towards the end when Penny rebels against her, her expression doesn’t change at all. As she blows her own daughter’s head off carelessly, ruthlessly and horrifyingly.

Though I think there’s another reason she smiles so much, besides wanting to gain people’s trust and because she seems actually content with her decisions. That reason being she’s hiding her plans from other adults. Her goal is clearly the most different from David. who unlike all three of the other principals, wants to stop people from being able to mutate children and get rid of the goo gene. But she also differs from Jerome’s dad and Regis. Jerome’s dad wants to make drugs and probably set up an empire from it. Regis wants a promotion. However Penny’s mother wants to take over other schools. Not only does she pose a threat to children, she could’ve potentially posed a threat to other principals. Including Jerome’s dad and Regis. God knows what she would’ve done to David if she’d gotten control over him. Regis went as far to prolong David’s torment by keeping him captive before eventually killing him. She could’ve done even worse. During one of the missions, where you repair the magnet, ripping Penny’s head off, what is Dr. Danner’s immediate reaction?

To get the fuck out of there.

He says his tenure is over, tells the kids not to take drugs unless he gave them to the kids. And leaves with a jet pack. He knows Penny’s mother would react beyond poorly. Maybe one of the only times she’d fly into a rage. Obviously not out of care for Penny, but because her plans were set back. So other adults who are aware of her actions are scared of her to some extent. Which happens with the other principals, I think, slightly. Scippio’s clearly scared of Regis. And David’s most likely terrified of Regis to some extent considering his son is in active danger, he can’t stop. Not only that but Regis did literally kidnap David and chained him up (I’ll talk about this eventually as well, I swear. WHAT WAS WITH THE COLLAR REGIS?! WHAT WAS WITH THE COLLAR? Does he just love seeing David suffer?) So being terrified of your kidnapper is natural.

A final thing we’re going to talk about is the Principal’s outfits! I know, it sounds mad, but bear with me this is important.

From these four images of all four principals we can see that while they do wear lighter coloured outfits, Only two wear warmer toned outfits. Those being David who wears warm toned shades of orange and brown, with a white shirt. And Penny’s mother who wears pink. Not only is her outfit pink, but it’s a bright pink. And unlike David’s outfit, as orange symbolises warmth. Pink symbolises love, tenderness, kindness and compassion. Showing Penny’s mother wants people to believe she’s nice and kind, so not only does she act it. But she adds an extra layer to further the manipulation by dressing herself in a way to present herself as such. When she is far from kind.

Overall, disregarding ships (I know, I love Kg1 principal x Kg2 principal as well) I think not only is she genuinely content knowing the horrible things she’s done and is doing. But she was hiding the horrible things she was doing so she could take over the schools. She was potentially going to pose a threat to the other evil principals if she was left to gain more power. And all so she could get as far as she could she presents herself as a kind and caring person in appearance and behaviour. Like a snake. She’s horribly evil, but such a good villain amongst the evil principal in the Kindergarten games.
