Buggy who has unlocked his devil fruit but just doesn’t tell anyone is so interesting.

Buggy after having his fruit for a year or two figuring out how it works via many tests and then willing that forward onto others. Mostly marines cause he’s keeping his experiments a secret to avoid either someone tampering or The Rogers getting nervous for his health and telling him to just stop.

The moment he actually chop chops another person it’s a marine who had tried to fight him well he was on his own and as Buggy watches the man who he punched in the face fall apart into little pieces he smiles and evil little grin of excitement and eagerness to see what else he can do before picking up the man’s heart and squishing it in his hand.

Soon getting better at chop chopping people on command as long as he’s touching them and learning to chop chop inanimate objects too. Using that to his advantage in a fight by chopping marines and making their parts float and then once they reach a certain height releasing his devil fruit and watching the bodies splatter to the ground. Making a stone split apart and float before throwing it really hard and hitting an enemy in the head.

He learns he can make his devil fruit more child friendly by using haki to make the parts where he split look smooth instead of exposing organs and muscles and bones. He can phase through walls because he’s splitting the atoms and using haki in the same regard so he doesn’t cause a reaction. He’ll be in one room and suddenly in the next without anyone seeing him use the door.

He never tells anyone that he learned how to do it though. He keeps it as a trump card only for emergencies.

Until one day well chilling on Karai Bari marines land a successful surprise attack and there are many wounded and casualties right out the gate. When Buggy arrives on the battle scene he’s enraged that marines managed this attack so seamlessly under his nose that he uses his devil fruit with such alarming accuracy and precision to just float them and the silently float through the mass of screaming enemies well slitting all their throats or stomachs that it makes everyone still on ground watch in awe and fear.

When Buggy lands again and lets the dead fall with him he plays it off as a miracle and that his love for his crew made him unlock his devil fruit right there and then.

Mihawks and Crocodile can see it for the lie it is though. There’s no way someone could do something like that without being something malicious. A monster.

I think it’s interesting to have Buggy still as someone weaker than others in strength but so versatile in intelligence and adaptability that it reminds people that he did grow up with one of the greatest.

The he could have been a real monster if he had cared to.

Special attack 🤺🤺🤺

Crossguild/Corabug!!!

When Crossguild first forms and Buggy is still being actively harmed. Cora is away with Law for his 6-8 months out of the year for Law and Buggy’s custody agreement. Cora dies does do constant snail calls with Buggy but Buggy lies and says everything is wonderful. When Cora first found out about Buggy’s empower status he was cheering in his husband through the den den so loudly that Mihawks heard and it got Buggy beat up again.

As time marches forward and the three men running Crossguild become more and more hostile towards each other. Tensions are on the rise but as they constantly have to interact now they are also tasting to respect each other which leads to even more tension. Cora’s husband senses start going off and he gets a weird feeling so he asks (Begs) Law to go see Buggy and Law sends Cora off on his own because Law has his own things to accomplish. So Cora begins his solo adventure to see his husband after lots of hugs, see you soon’s, and farewells.

Everything explodes before Cora gets there. Words, hands, and weapons are thrown and the night ends with crying and anger. All three Crossguild leaders head back to their respective tents a mess. The next morning all three sit down to actually talk. They agree to start being fairer to Buggy and Buggy agrees to be less combative and actually run his crews decisions by them. It’s a couple weeks before Cora arrives and they all are getting along much better.

Cora arrives on the shores of Buggy’s island and is welcomed and escorted to where Buggy and the other two men are having breakfast. Buggy springs up and immediately rushes into Cora’s arms, big kisses exchanged. Crocodile and Mihawks figured out Buggy had a husband but they weren’t expecting Doflamingos brother. They both freeze up but relax thinking about how they are safe because Buggy lied to Cora about being fine. Cora noticed how they froze up though.

Buggy leads Cora over to the table and seats him into his chair before crawling into his lap and Cora notices how parts of Buggy’s exposed skin have healing bruises and actual cuts. Cora quickly puts together that Buggy was lying to him and Cora of course vows to deal with that later but currently he makes Crocodile and Mihawks uncomfortable. He starts petting Buggy’s hair and grabbing his sides, cooing at his lovely clown husband who’s stuffing his face with food.

The two know they’re cooked when Crocodile reaches for some salt for his eggs and Buggy flinches cause Crocodile moved to fast. Cora catches the movement and loses control of his devil fruit, everything becoming easily silent and oppressive. Buggy immediately starts signing to tell Cora to calm down and they can talk about it but Cora’s already stood up knocking Buggy off his lap and lunging for Crocodile.

Cora shows the two what a marine, even an ex one can do. Completely throttles Crocodile and gets very close to beating up Mihawks if it wasn’t for Yoru. When Buggy finally gets his husband to back off and sound returns to them Cora scoops Buggy up and they have a long long talk in Buggy’s tent. Cora confronts Buggy about him lying and cry’s when Buggy tells him the truth.

When Buggy finally gets to the part where him and the other two had already fought weeks ago he talks about how this started to become friends and Cora praises his husband’s charisma skills.

The whole thing ends with Cora realizing the two men might have started falling for his husband and depending on how Crossguild proceeds Cora knows he’s going to stay by his husbands side for a while.

Thinking about Buggy having psycho ex-bfs and one day after him, Croc, and Hawk start dating Mihawks is feeling guilty about how they treated him before and he goes to apologize to Buggy (in a very subtle and cool way thank you very much. Definitely no sad puppy eyes and a little cuddling. No Sir.) and Buggy just starts telling him it’s fine and sharing his break up stories and Mihawks is hearing each one internally going “Jesus Christ the clowns more fucked up than I thought. I have to kill those people.”

Cause Buggy stories go like this.

Buggy: Aww don’t worry Hawky I’m just glad you apologized. One time I had a bf who when we broke up got so mad he knocked me out and tried to bury me alive! Trust me your a big upgrade 😘🫶

Mihawks: What 😶

A week later while Mihawks is hunting this particular ex down Crocodile asks Buggy what it’s all about and Buggy’s tells him the story too plus one more.

Croc: Damn what’s got Dracule all worked up?

Buggy: I told him about my ex burying me alive. I figured he was already upset with that so I find telling him him the story of my other ex who dated me for a year and then one night asked to try bondage and then went crazy saying “I don’t want anyone else to have you” type of shit and then tried to drown me to keep my corpse but my amazing first mate saved me.

Croc @ Daz: Remind me to give Cabaji a raise and then ask him what happened to the guy.

In conclusion multiple layers of trauma and abuse from men have given Buggy the somewhat idea of being treated like shit is normal and extremes are just little events that happen.

Consider a corabug concept where Cora lives solely bc Buggy was involved in the Incident With The Donquixote Family.

Law still gets the Devil Fruit. He still gets locked away for safety. Cora still plans to sacrifice himself to save Law no matter what, he is COMMITTED, that is his KID -

But Buggy, our beloved cringefail baby boy, somehow gets lost, befriends a secret underground criminal sect, happens across the end of the Incident, and now has Cora bleeding out and Law, recovered and held on his hip. Where does he go? These wounds are bad! Worse than he can treat right off!

Enter crime squad. "You, blue haired jester man, are so charming and cute and have a Vibe We Like. We'll help your husband... if you also help us in turn by feeding us information."

Buggy, fairly desperate, goes "Alright bet"

They end up faking Rosi's death. He survives, and only they know. The trio scuttle off the island under cover, and Buggy has a contact in his sticker covered, gel pen filled contacts book.

Law still goes on to become the surgeon of death, Buggy still goes on to make a valiant attempt at being a run of the mill east blue pirate, which still blows up in his face.

But Cora is now free. No Marines. No crime family to infiltrate. Just him, his beloved, and their kid.

Cora stays with Buggy, and they both encourage Law to follow his dreams and goals, and Buggy actually ends up finding the medical texts Law devours like candy to be absolutely FASCINATING. Cora loves his silly lil nerds ♡♡

They have a few close calls, but things work out in ways that seem absolutely impossible but damn if it didn't happen.

Law sets sail, and Buggy has his circus and crew. Cora eventually picks up on some extra skills, and the two wind up having a trapeze or aerial show together. It's cute and cheesy and they're living the absolute dream, truly!

And then Shanks calls. Asks Buggy to test his protégé, this little rubber dumbass named Luffy.

This starts a spiral of Wacky Bad Things, but it works out in the end. ((The only thing stopping Cora from storming Impel Down or caling Sengoku is Alvida's voice of reason, and the responsibility he feels to his husband's crew, his own friends.))

Somehow things work out? Kinda?? And Cora gets to meet Shanks, who gave Buggy a ride from the hellhole that was Marineford. ((He also gets a sweet smiled shovel talk that has him quaking in his boots. Then Buggy punches Shanks, and suddenly they're wrestling on the ground like children. Cora is Confused. Benn just offers him a smoke.))

When Cross Guild begins, Cora is accustomed to Buggy's wacked out luck stats. He has learned to roll with the punches and also recognize when Bugs is Planning smth and when things simply Happen. This is a mix of both.

He walks in on a "meeting" and just. Pauses. "...."

"...."

".... Bugs, baby."

"Y-yes, my love?"

"You know I don't mind you indulging in certain plays I am uncomfortable with with different people, but these men..."

"..."

"They're hot. You should have invited me. Btw I brought snacks."

Croc and Hawk are SHOOKETH but Buggy just goes "oooh yay! Is it the silly fruits?"

Anyway I just think this would be funny and silly and weird and I'm not caffinated enough for more than this okay ily byyyeeee

I think about Cora living cause Buggy was involved with him and Law so often. Like I’m so fr when I say that it makes me sad that they never met in canon cause they would have been so silly.

Everything going up to the point of Cora’s sacrifice and Law in the chest when all of a sudden after Doffy and his bitches leave Buggy rushes out and immediately starts working on Cora and being all “Fuckjng Christ babe what the hell were you thinking?!” Because Buggy’s tired of having self sacrificial people in his life that leave him cause they think they know what’s best.

The criminal sect rolls back up to help Buggy and they get Cora, Buggy, and Law over to the nearest island (Swallow Island) to get better medical help and leave them there (not without striking a information swapping deal).

Now with a “dead husband” and “missing child” Buggy and his growing family (they gain the other 3 at Swallow) he retreats back to east blue with his family in tow and everything continues as cannon.

Up until Shanks calls Buggy to check on his protégé who just set sail. Buggy does so and he still stabs the hat cause it’s got him feeling….things. Cora is also the one who retrieves Buggy’s body and waits for him cause Buggy sent him a signal saying he was making his way back.

Of course Garp comes and takes Buggy shortly after the incident in Orange Town and notices a blond man among the crew Buggy bargained himself for (maybe sending a quick letter to Sengoku).

Impel down is a nightmare for Cora cause he’s terrified for his scheming husband who is not the strongest in that prison even if he is the craftiest. He’s helping Alvida with the crew which causes the two to bond and when Cora finally meets Shanks he’s shocked to see him and Buggy play wrestling like their still brats and not grown men.

He knows his husband never truly hated Shanks it’s more a roundabout resentment than anything. Cora does get shovel talked and it does leave him wary but you can be Buggy’s spouse without some snark so he does give Shanks a bit of a mouthy comment. Luckily Shanks finds it funny cause it’s a jab about Shanks trying to save his nightmare of a baby brother who is more of a menace than his protégé Luffy. A big party is thrown in lieu to the wedding party that Shanks missed originally and both the crews have a fabulous time.

Later on Cora gets a run down of what happened and that Buggy is now taking a loan from thee Sir Crocodile and there is some sort of plan that his husband is keeping from the crew, Alvida, and even him!

(Imma be honest I don’t have much love for Coracroc so plz be patient 🙏)

When Croc comes to collect the money with Mihawks Buggy claims he doesn’t have it which Cora, Alvida, and the others find strange cause Buggy is always watching his money. Cora can tell there’s a plot being hatched and it’s not until he walks in on the meeting that he says the other two are hot that the other two realize Buggy is dating this giant.

Buggy agrees to keep the other twos abuse secret from Cora as long as they play along with what Cora believes is happening since Cora thinks that Buggy lied about not having the money just to get Croc and Hawk to stick around. This causes the other two to actually end up falling for Buggy and he reveals to everyone he wants to go after The One Piece.

Cora doesn’t find out about what was really happening until years later when the other two also have wedding rings on their fingers.

Neither him nor Crocodile had expected the coup.

Now Crocodile is dead, a shattered glass sculpture in the seas, and he’s strapped to a table in the kitchen. Each limb tied down by a colorful belt he couldn’t even struggle a centimeter. A horrible garish crowd was formed around him all smiling with teeth like the pack of scavenging jackals they were. Colorful face paint blending with the bright fluorescent lights giving him a vision swirling headache.

At the end near his feet stood the ringleader. Someone he never expected this level of strategy from.

Buggy the Clowns smile stretched unnaturally wide across his face. Sharp teeth bared in a magical grin and bloodlusting hearts in his eyes at the most definitely approaching revenge. If it wasn’t for the belt around his neck holding his head down he’d be glaring at the man head on. Buggy was still too weak physically to take him or Crocodile down (hell even Daz, though the man’s body now hung in the center of Buggy town). But both of them had underestimated the type of manpower Buggy was working with and his knowledge in general. With a quick working sedative and some strong and fast acting men from his circus crew he and Crocodile had been swiftly disarmed and taken.

Mihawks wasn’t there to physically watch what happened to the other two men but he had heard about it over the broad casting DenDen that had been set in the kitchen with his guards.

He loathed to think of what Buggy had in store for him.

So far though the clown had only paced around him and hummed a classical circus tune. Now at his feet he was just smiling. “I bet you’re not as scared as you should be.” The clown finally spoke tapping his chin thoughtfully. “Mihawks let his eyes go back to staring straight up at the lights above. “Please Clown, nothing about you is remotely threatening, Shanks made that very clear.” He let himself smirk when he felt more than he saw the clown stiffen. It was a short lived victory because the clown began to laugh. Not his normal self absorbed maniacal chuckle but something that dripped with pure hysteria and humor.

Like he’d just found the funniest punchline to a joke.

“Well, since you and Shanks are so close….. then I know exactly how to fix your little problem.” The clown walked away from him to the kitchen counter, the crowd parting in barely repressed excitement. “And what problem would that be?” He asked with a sneer. “Well you were telling that Sir Crocodile that you missed him so. I know exactly the ice breaker to get you talking again!” The clown picked something up and handed it to his crews strong man. A mountain of a man who hailed from West Blue. Before pulling him to the table in his return. “Oh yeah? And pray tell what do you mean by that?” He jested, feeling sweat bead at his brow.

Buggy leaned over him at his head so he could only look directly up at those red painted lips and bright green eyes.

“Cut it off.” The clown said brightly, an erotic quiver to his voice.

And then the clown backed off and it clicked what he meant. Mihawks began to truly struggle but others rushed to help hold him down. The strong man skipping forward with a laugh well grabbing his right bicep. Lining up and raising a meat cleaver high above his head. His screams falling on deaf ears.

Buggy just watched from where he stood. A feeling of bliss and satisfaction rolling into his stomach.

It was a rather large box compared to the other bomb sized boxes Buggy had sent him in the past.

Shanks and his men stood on the Red Forces deck and surrounded the box in a loose circle. It was black but wrapped with a beautiful gold lace ribbon. It was cold to the touch and had come with a note “Guess Who Got Their Sparring Partner Back? 😋” with a silly little face drawn on. Yassop poked it with the board from a crate he had ripped apart and jumped back a little when it moved but nothing happened. “Your little clown is finally planning to blow us sky high huh?” Benn groused lighting his third cigarette of the hour. “Haha maybe so but it’s probably timed so I’ll just open it and see what’s up!” Shanks laughed and approached the parcel.

Untying the robin with a pull of the end and flipping the box open his smile was wiped from his face and he stumbled back a gasp leaving his mouth. His body felt like it was dropped in the sea and his lungs prickled from the lack or air. He felt dizzy and a feeling of hands twisting his innards made him feel sick.

Inside the box was an arm holding a bouquet of yellow roses.

But not just any arm.

Mihawks arm.

The yellow sleeve of his jacket and the callouses of a swordsman’s palm a dead give away. His crew swarmed him and the box. Asking him what was wrong and if he was ok and shrieking with horror when they saw the contents in the package.

“No way! No way!” Yassop clutched his stomach looking queasy. “What the fuck is he up to over there?!” Lucky Roo was standing stock still and all color had drained from his face “Oh my god…. He just sent it to us like…. What the fuck… The world’s greatest swordsman…” Lime Juice staring wide eyed was still by the box “these are not clean cuts…. It was hacked off.” Benn’s cigarette had fallen from his mouth and had burnt a little mark onto the deck.

Shanks couldn’t tear his eyes away. Something serious had happened for Buggy to snap like this. Even though Buggy has a quick temper it was just as quick to fizzle out. Mihawks had done something to push Buggy off the deep end. Crocodile was probably suffering the consequences to (if he was even still alive).

He needed to go see Buggy right away.

“Benn.” His second in commands eyes snapped to him “Chart a course for Karai Bari. We need to go save Mihawks.” Benn nodded and swiftly made his way to the helm.

Everyone else who heard him started preparing the ship without his command but he motioned for Lucky Roo to come to him. “Grab the box and put it in the freezer. Buggy usually responds better when he knows his gifts are well received.” LR nodded and grabbed the boxes lid before slamming it on and sprinting away.

Lying back in the deck he raised his right arm up to the sky and turned his hand over to examine his palms, rough with callouses from his sword. The note from the box had torn off in the commotion and he let his hand fall to snatch it up “Guess Who Got Their Sparring Partner Back? 😋” in loopy letters making much more sense now.

Shanks let out a small chuckle.

Buggy did always have a wicked sense of humor.

A little something that just came to me.
