I swear I only went to Wal-Mart for laundry detergent. Then, this mini haul happened 🤷🏾♀️. I’ve been in love with the @milanicosmetics Bold Mattes collection of lipsticks, so I had to get the ones (I think) I don’t already have in my collection. Then, in my completionist state of mind, I picked up more of the @wetnwildbeauty Hi Shine Liquid Catsuits and Zodiac Collection lip glosses. The @lorealmakeup Fresh Wear Foundation is also a repurchase, just in a different shade than the two I already have. Rounding out the haul is my new @milanicosmetics Hypnotic Lights highlighter in Beaming Light. #minihaul #drugstoremakeuphaul #loreal #milani #wetnwild https://www.instagram.com/p/BwcR4r_JsHb/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=kmblcyqsdtgl

With it being the New Year that means new products for 2015 in the makeup world! The drugstore especially is booming with new items from almost every brand. I was able to pick up some goodies (thanks to CVS’s recent sales!) so here’s a rundown of what I got and my reviews of them.
Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer in Light - $8.99
This concealer is amazing! You get a lot of product and only need a tiny amount to cover the area that needs concealing. It’s creamy and not drying at all and very full coverage. It can be used for spot concealing (blemishes) and under eye concealing. It does it all! Definitely a product I will be repurchasing.
Maybelline Master Prime Blur + Redness Control $9.99
Primers are really big nowadays. They fill in and smooth out our imperfections to create a nice smooth canvas. I have a lot of redness and I’ve read that green tinted products correct redness to balance it out. The consistency is lotion based with a bit of a slip to it. I found it easy to work with and it didn’t ball up under my foundation. I didn’t notice it doing much for my pores as far as blurring them out and I didn’t find it to correct my redness at all. What this primer does is prolongs the wear of my foundation significantly. I work really long days I sometimes have my makeup on for 15 hours straight and this primer helped keep my makeup fresh looking all day with only one or two touch ups with powder. You get a lot of product to boot!
Maybelline Matte +Poreless Fit Me Foundation in 110 Porcelain - $7.99
It’s very difficult to find a foundation that will suit your skin’s needs. Since I’m very fair with an extreme yellow undertone along with combination, acne prone, and sensitive skin it makes it very difficult for me to find a foundation. The line comes in a ton of shades and I was able to find one that matched me pretty well. I had very high hopes for this foundation and when I initially started writing this article I was going to give it a rave review. This foundation unfortunately for me only works well in conjunction with the primer I just mentioned. I tried it on its own without it and it faded within 4 hours in my T-Zone area. It also oxidized and looked ashy on my skin. An unfortunate miss for me.
Physician’s Formula Sexy Boost Cat Eyes Liner - $9.95
I’m always on the hunt for a liquid liner that doesn’t smell fear and won’t give me too much trouble. First off the packaging is adorable; I currently have it displayed on my vanity! I absolutely love the applicator. It’s perfect for beginner’s to create a perfect thin or thick line and you have a lot of control with it. The formula on the other hand isn’t that fantastic. The formula is very liquidy you can hear it when you shake it up. It’s not opaque at all and it’s actually quite streaky. I found this eyeliner to be workable if I went over it and set it with a black eyeshadow. It didn’t budge and it rectified the opacity issue. I got this while CVS was having a 40% off sale on Physician’s Formula and it came with a $2 off coupon on the package so that’s why I’m keeping it. I am very fond of the applicator so I’m thinking of cleaning it off and keeping it to use with other liquid eyeliners. If you’re a beginner and can get it on sale, try it out. If you’re used to applying liquid eyeliner, then I would pass on this because of the formula.
Rimmel Show Off Matte Lip Velvets in Meteoric Matte and Burning Lava - $6.79
I personally love a matte lip because they’re low maintenance and longer wearing than a shinier lip option. Finding a matte lip product that doesn’t suck the moisture out of your lips can be quite tricky but I’m happy to report that the Rimmel Show Matte Lip Velvets are a wonderful option. They’re creamy, easy to work with, and super opaque. The line comes in five colors and I picked up two a neutral retro red (Burning Lava) and a deep cranberry (Meteoric Matte). I don’t need to touch these up too much throughout the day even with eating and drinking they just need minimal maintenance. The Meteoric Matte shade is surprisingly, a dupe for Hourglass’s Opaque Rouge liquid lipstick in Icon! When you first swatch the two they don’t look anything alike but once they dry down they look almost identical. I actually prefer the Rimmel formula over the Hourglass one. I find the Hourglass one cakes up a bit if you have any residual moisture left from a previous lip product and can apply streaky. Plus it’s $34 for a full size and $10 for a travel size so it’s always a plus to find something better that costs less.
That's all for now my lovelies feel free to leave feedback, suggestions, etc. Stay beautiful!
