Thank you to everyone for making last night possible. You guys allowed me to show you a big vulnerable part of my life. The discussion was amazing, spiritual, informative and very emotional for me. Last night some of you were crying real tears as you related to my film piece, that for me meant my job a visual artist is being done to be able to evoke that emotion and provoke your thoughts at the same time. I could never thank all those who came enough. The KZNSA contemporary art gallery is a hub where local emerging and established artists can showcase their work and attract audiences locally and internationally. ▪️ Angela Shaw, creative director and head of operations at the Gallery shares her insight on the local art scene and what artists to watch if you’re looking to pick up some original work. ▪️ “Durban’s art scene is very good at producing incredible raw talent. We are never going to be “sleek” Cape Town and we don’t have the business class of Johannesburg, but we are this incredible humid sweaty hotbox that breeds and grows talent.
