I mentioned in my stories that I’m fixated on the 80s “reggae” version of Sharleena right now. The version on YCDTOSA 3 & the Sampler features a guitar solo by Frank’s teenage son Dweezil, which turns into a duet when Frank joins. In the liner notes, Frank notes that this is the only time Dweezil and he ever played guitar together on stage… and he was writing this in ‘88, the year of his last tour. He wouldn’t have had his diagnosis yet (I think), but he also left the ‘88 tour embittered and disinclined to ever tour again. So when he wrote this paragraph, did he know that he’d never play onstage with his son again? At least not while alive. I’ve seen “the Dweez” (as Ike Willis calls him on this recording) play with video of his father three times now, and there’s continuous talk of a hologram Zappa coming soon… #frankzappa #dweezilzappa #zappavinyl #vinyl #vinyladay #lp #vinyloftheday #vinyligclub #vinyljunkie #vinylcommunity #vinylcollective #instavinyl #vinylgram #recordcollector #nowspinning https://www.instagram.com/p/CiGyS-9sw4c/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
