2019 A-Level Exam Diary

Maths Paper 1

Absolutely catastrophic. Too many questions, not enough time. I was lulled into a false sense of security by the first question, because everything from that point onwards was a complete mess. I’m terrified that I might miss my grades for uni, but trying to stay positive because I know I put down SOME right answers... Hopefully it’s enough to get an A, but I seriously doubt it given how terrible this paper went.

Statistics and Mechanics

... No comment. A decent stats paper! Mechanics was a terrible nightmare that I don’t wish to divulge into. I’m just shocked and devastated that people cheated, because if I hadn’t already failed I definitely have now

Biology Paper 3

WOW, the first time paper 3 has ever gone well for me! The essay nearly broke my hand, I had to write so bloody fast, but I managed to write what I hope was a pretty decent piece of work. Some of the data analysis questions were a bit funky, I’m not good with those normally, but the maths was a blessing and overall I’m feeling confident about this paper!

Chemistry Paper 2

Not bad... But not great, either. I actually think I missed the first question, my friends were talking about a cyclic amine and I FULLY don’t remember answering anything about that lol. But otherwise, a bit of a ‘meh’ paper, which is sad because organic chem is my fave... Oh, well, just hope I did well enough to get a decent grade!

Maths Paper 2

... Ew. Absolutely disgusting. I found it much better than Paper 1, but still pretty awful. All of those sigma notations?? No thank YOU, honey. I left a couple of questions blank, but the ones I put answers down for I feel fairly confident about. I just hope the grade boundaries are as low as last year’s, otherwise I’m screwed
