Dolcetto Monferrato 2019 Cantine Povero Score 86 @thegoodspiritscowinebeer The little sweet one, as it is known in Italian. Funny name as this bad boys dry. Noir berry skin this is a lovely every day wine to enjoy at a fair price, I would say it is a good quality wine. It is not a Barolo or Barberesco its pals from the Piedmont and is used to generate some early income for the vineyard as the two mentioned Nebbiolo regions do their magic and mature in wooden vats or the modernist barrique barrels. The Cantine Povero is a ballsy wee wine with really good acidity, It is on the lighter side and I think it makes a good alternative to a good burgundy Pinot Noir whilst saving a few pounds. The wines definitely one to enjoy in its youth.
