Vogel wanted my ten fav songs so here you go

1. Empire of Hearts by Gaia

My like fav song ever and when he doesn’t play it live I am always a little sad about it.

2. Nega Wisp Armour Phase 2/Solaris Phase 2/Perfect Dark Gaia mashup by AeonEric

Now fan mashups, especially Sonic fan mashups, can be super hit or miss (when it comes to Sonic, everyone thinks they’re a DJ).  This IS a bit messy given the person who made it obviously didn’t have access to the stems for the songs they were mashing up, so they had to balance three sets of drum kits probably in Audacity or something.  All three original tracks were done live with an orchestra so there’s also all the extraneous stuff THAT kind of recording has, so I forgive them for the noise.  Anyway this song is super awesome because it’s the three best orchestral versions of Sonic vocal tracks (used for the final bosses of their games) mashed into like one turbo track.  Also all three songs are super good on their own.

3. Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts

I hate country music and I hate the original version.  Do I like this one probably because of Cars?  Probably. 

4. Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees

I hardly know any of the words to this, I just know it’s my theme song.

5. Mombasa by Hans Zimmer

It’s actually a tossup between this and Imagine the Fire but Mombasa has a little more oomph to it.  It’s just one of those rare movie power tracks that holds the line all the way through.  (also the best part of Imagine the Fire didn’t make it into the movie so there’s that)

6. Still Alive (WOB Remix) by Jonathan Coulton

I almost can’t listen to the original anymore because I love this remix so much.  It’s like the perfect remix. 

7. Still Alive by Lisa Miskovsky

I don’t even know how I know this song because I know I bought Mirror’s Edge AFTER I heard it but IDK I like it.

8. Davy Jones by Hans Zimmer

There is almost nothing better than an orchestral power ballad played by a squid man’s face.  Also there’s several covers of this on actual church organs instead of decaying barnacle organs which is unarguably super awesome.

9. Eminence Front by The Who

A big reason I even like this song is the synthesizer but it’s also about how everyone has a persona that they forget is there because you have to invest so much into your persona to get along day-to-day that you forget that’s not you.

10. RAMsterdam (Jorn van Deynhoven remix) by RAM

There’s a lot of really good progressive/uplifting trance like this that I like but today I will go with this one.  It just goes for seven and a half minutes straight.
