@edwrd // plotted starter for a couple of idiots
Bella can hear Jake sleeping the floor above. From Edward, as usual, she can’t hear anything. His silence is astoundingly loud and has been for a while. Normally she would at least get the sweet relief of sleep to forget the uncomfortable feeling of not belonging here. But not tonight. Tonight her thoughts won’t just shut the fuck up, determined apparently to crush her. She rolls over again and kicks the blankets off with a frustrated grunt before finally just sitting up and giving in. If it wasn’t 2 am on a Tuesday she’d just call Peyton and beg her to pick Bella up, but it’s not exactly peak fun time. And besides...she didn’t really know what to say to a n y o n e right now. How to explain anything that was weighing heavily on her. So heavily tonight that she’s surprised she can still breath.
Quickly she changes out of her pajamas, not really in favor of going out, even for fast food, in fuzzy penguin pants. It would have just made her look more pathetic than she already feels. She debates leaving a note for Jake just in case he wakes up and comes down to find her gone, but she figures the fact that her stuff is still here will serve as an I haven’t fucked off back to Seattle message just as well as a note would. And Edward...well she doubts he’ll actually notice that she’s going anywhere anyway.
Pulling out her laptop Bella checks for what’s open nearby, figuring walking is her best bet just to clear her head. A Taco Bell isn’t too far off, and a diner as well. But she chooses Taco Bell. Sitting alone in a diner in the middle of the night was just too sad. Taco Bell in the middle of the night...well you’re either high or sad and no one’s going to look twice which works for her.
With her wallet and a key shoved into the pocket of her hoodie Bella steps q u i e t l y out of her room, listening carefully for sounds of a waking wolf but hears nothing and continues forward. Quickly she looks up to double check and that’s when she sees Edward. She would have just kept going had he not been looking right at her. “Uh...hey.” Bella says softly, knowing that even from up there he’d be able to hear her. It feels strange saying anything though, even two small words. Maybe he’ll just turn away and let her go, she’s gotten used to that lately but it still stings every time.
